My Morning Musings.....
I was thinking this morning that today was just another day. Nothing special to look forward to. Then it occurred to me that if I was mildly bored then I should realize that:
1)I'm healthy and I have no medical worries
2)Nothing in my home is broken and I don't have to miss work to receive any repairmen
3)Now I feel thankful for today![]()
That is fantastic news!! Hope he is completely back to normal now!!
I booked the trip. Worst case scenario I can cancel later on and get my $40 back. So... potential mommy/daughter Disney camping trip: September 16-21![]()
Dang. That's pitiful behavior. They are so selfish, and you'd think they would have gone out of their way to try to help him out, when he was injured and unable to travel at Christmas. And she didn't even send him his gift. Now I can understand family ties and all, but his is one dysfunctional group of broken toys. Thank God he ended up with you--someone who appreciates him and he appreciates you.
Yeah, they are something. He made sure all of their presents arrived days before the family get together, because he knew if he was late in getting them to him there would be a bunch of complaining. Anyway, he and I are lucky to have each other. I am thankful for him everyday!![]()
That thing looks super compact and portable!
Is there any photos of the interior? also surprised that it can be upgraded with a low power A/C unit.
AC. An absolute necessity for being in WDW in September. That thing looks super compact and portable!

Yup MinnieM..... A person who needs surgery....a person who has a broken furnace.....those people are not bored, but they would happily trade their day with mine. They would like a typical/"boring day" for themselves. That's a very nice way to start the day. Unfortunately, I only read it a while ago after I got home from work, and my day was already shot to pieces! But, maybe I'll read it again first thing tomorrow morning and help myself to some of your positive energy, to start my Thursday off right!

That was so cool.Few impressions: didn't realize it was a joy stick (style) control inside the gyroplane (because I've never been in one). Second, I was surprised at the time it took for takeoff, but can imagine the drag from the ocean on a small aircraft like that. Third, what a great aircraft for sightseeing with all the open sides, etc.
Lastly, enjoyed the landing sequence with the pilot pulling back on the control lever to raise the nose of the gyroplane. Nicely done!![]()
Hubs was cleared by the Dr. and walked out without the boot! He brought his right tennis shoe with him to the appointment. When the nurse saw him holding his shoe she teased him about being optimistic! He is walking gingerly because he is just a little scared still but I'm sure he will be normal, or at least walking normal by tomorrow.
After the appointment we went to a British pub to celebrate. He still wanted me to drive home because he hasn't driven since October 30th and the road were still fairly slushy with yesterday's snow. So we didn't celebrate with too many adult beverages! He does have a church meeting tonight and was pretty excited to drive himself there, just like a kid with a new driver's license.
No snow just torrential rain.
I've had some crazy commutes, but tonight's goes down in history.
R train in NYC - rush hour - packed like sardines in a can.
Halfway under the river between Manhattan and Queens, a sudden and deafening BOOM!!!!!!!! Sounded like a bomb went off.
Accompanied simultaneously with the black tunnel outside the train turning orange, as if with fire. And sparks flying everywhere (outside the train).
People screaming, gasping, generally having heart attacks, as the train screeches to a stop. Lights go off. Air conditioner goes off.
Silence.
Then, over the loudspeaker:
"Ummm, okay folks, obviously, something just happened. So we are going to have to ask for your patience while we try to figure this out. Train is in emergency mode, so unfortunately, the air has to remain off."
Everyone starts freaking the hell out.
Two women who were apparently on their way to the airport start asking everyone if they think they will get there on time.
One guy starts screaming that we derailed - gets in a fight with another guy who says if we derailed, we would be listing to one side.
Everyone in their winter jackets sweating their butts off.
10 minutes go by.
20 minutes go by.
Someone comments: "Ya know, if we're sitting here like this, all the trains behind us are all backed up." (What a genius.)
Someone else: "We might be on the news!"
30 minutes go by.
40 minutes go by.
Someone: "Look, they are outside, looking at the train."
Someone else: "I know we derailed!! They are gonna have to walk us outa here."
Airport ladies: "We're gonna miss our flight!"
45 minutes go by.
Light suddenly come on. Air conditioner comes on. Car full of sardines cheers. Train doesn't move.
50 minutes go by.
Train suddenly starts crawling forward at the speed of an elderly one legged dog.
Eventually, we arrive at Queens Plaza.
Insult to injury #1 - "This train is out of service. Everyone please leave the train immediately."
Thus, 15 gazillion commuters try to shove on to a just arriving E train across the platform. Three trains later, I am able get on, and the train I get on is apparently filled entirely with flu patients. Coughing, hacking, sneezing. I should be in a hospital bed by this weekend.
Insult to injury #2 - Something really wacky clearly happened in that tunnel and now I'll never know what. MTA only says it was a "mechanical issue".
Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Although I'm not a beer drinker, and wouldn't know a good one from a lousey one, I get a chuckle out of the various names and labels. Like you mentioned, years ago you never heard of all these nutty names--but nowadays, it seems like there's a new, crazier name coming out frequently.
However, since you know how much I love snow, if I ever decided to sample a beer, it would have to be the Thunder Snow one!![]()
He might be less inclined to drive down there but he will probably still go. His sister that lives in Chicago said she would send his Christmas gift and hasn't nor has she responded to any texts from him even when it was regarding a question about her kids. Sad really that an adult would act that way, oh well.
Nope, neither of them. He posted a picture of him boot-free on Facebook and neither of them even gave it a like. They are on Facebook all the time too.
I'm sorry they seem to be their usual selves. Christmas cruise sounds good![]()
Yes and yes. You get every amenity you would get at the resort. Except, you know,... the actual room![]()
