Yikes!! The wind!! We have our windows closed, but they have a kind of latch on them and they are a bit loose....we have a code red warning for wind today...gusts up to 90 mph, so it keeps gusting and I'm afraid it's going to rip the window off the hinges!! It blew the trampoline over and against the back door...I couldn't have opened the door. But then it blew it back upright. And the neighbors have a satelite mounted on a pole above their shed and it is bent at an almost 90 degree angle now....bet the neighbors aren't watching any TV today!! DH has already arranged to pick both kids up from school, because there is no way they could bike in this. As much as I need the exercise, I don't know that -I- could bike in this. Yesterday it hailed on me and today it's windy enough to bend a metal pole....ENOUGH, Mother nature!! Snow if you will, but please stop with the theatrics!!
We had up to force 9 last night. Cold i can do but the wind is horrible.
Sympathy likes. Stay safe my friends

Well, my company has decided that it is time to move me on from my position. And not just from my position, but from the department. I essentially told my boss that IT project management was not an ideal career path for me. He said okay, he understood, it happens more than he would care to admit where he brings in someone and they say that, but they've thought the quality of my work is so high that they want to keep me in the company, but not in IT (thank goodness, so much of this is over my head). So next week we'll have a meeting with HR to discuss what openings are available in the company and where I would fit. Meanwhile, I'm just over here being anxious because I thought I could just stay in my current position until the right position came up and they're like, "Yeah, no, time to move on!" And I'm also looking at other options, just in case (which my boss said if I did take that path, they would support me and give me high recommendations)

So the car purchase will definitely not happen until end of next month or end of March when I know what's going on with work. Ugh! Excited, but, oh my, I'm anxious.
Good luck, it seems like your company wants to keep you happy:joyfull:

Best bridesmaid dress story. One of my step sisters was getting married on the cheap YEA! Any way I was in Macy's and found a rack full of Laura Ashley dresses on sale for $50 reduced from $125. I ran to a pay phone called my sister and described them, she said pick them up. good thing I knew everybody's size. The only problem was one woman was 5 months pregnant by the wedding date. Thank goodness they were all a bit long and after cutting off the excess material before hemming we had enough to make baby bump panels for hers.

That is pretty funny. Speaking about cheap dresses, my wedding dress was found at a small bridal shop on Long Island. It was the second one I tried. Very simple empire waisted, with a macrame on the upper part of the bodice, so above the stitching line of the waist. The price was $400. I did go to another store to try on more, because well, I thought you had to. In any case I went back to the original store and chose the $400 dress. Bonus and reason I needed to get it that week was that is was tax free week on clothing in NY.

her wedding dress came from a small shop in Linden by the train station for $125. It was a small place with a shop attached for let's just say honeymoon stuff:cautious: Mine was cheaper and custom made

Keep going to Florida. North Carolina isn't the place to be today. Looking out my window, which is as close as I am planning on getting to the outdoors today, there appears to be anywhere between 5 to 7 inches of snow on the ground and the current temperature is 20 degrees. Very unfriendly NC weather. I have spent the morning going over my relocation contract and NOWHERE does it say anything about snow and cold. I'm wanting a refund.:mad::eek::eek::jawdrop::jawdrop::mad::mad:
and hopefully punitive damages for false advertising. Now that you're on the mend you should read the fine print

It's amazing how much I get done without the testosterones underfoot. I went to work for a couple of hours, made a blouse, got a major dent in mount laundry and took a nice warm bath. I hid some food away so the guys are getting leftovers and I'm going to watch a movie. A princess one so nobody comes near me:D Don't get me wrong I love all of them but I haven't really gotten any me time since before the holidays.

We woke up to a freak snowstorm on our wedding day. We got married in early December and it almost never snowed that early. I was devastated. Lots of our guests had to cancel their drives. One of my bridesmaids was flying in from New York and had her flight delayed and delayed and delayed. We ended up walking down the aisle late because she was frantically driving from the airport. She had to change into her dress in the car :hilarious::hilarious: And one of our groomsmen almost didn't make it because he had to drive up from NC and hadn't been prepared for snow in the mountains at all.

But they say rain on your wedding day is good luck, so snow must be too. It made for some really beautiful pictures :inlove::inlove:

Well, more news. I still don't feel better. I called my doctors office, and they didn't have anything with my doctor. So I resorted to begging. Begging worked, so I'm here now, and based on the fact that I had a nebulizer treatment two hours ago, and now they've jumped on giving me another one, well, worried is the word.

That, and my supervisor very nicely told me that I should go home and work from home today, and that she doesn't need my help with the monthly meeting tomorrow (hmm...yeah...right) I'm guessing maybe I wasn't as fine as I thought?

Well, let's see what he says.

Same here, and now Maryland law says they have to start after Labor Day and be out by June 15, so if they have too many snow days, they get a reduced spring break. They had yesterday off again, and we've been known to have a rough time in March, so who knows.
I wish Ohio had that law. I hate only having two weeks off in August then school starts. All the other districts around us are after Labor Day. It's weird though to go to the city next to us and we are done but their kids still have two weeks more of school.
