I've heard that you can get any drink below $24, so if I were on the DDP, I'd probably go with the most expensive drink I could find that qualified. Because A) when am I ever going to go to a restaurant and order a $23 glass of wine, and 2) I'd be too competitive about the DDP trying to "maximize" my credits.
and that's why the ddp would never work for me. I'd just get what I like credits be darned:eek:

Yeah, I wouldn't get the Dining plan if it weren't included in the package, because I'd rather just be able to get whatever I want. BUT, I have to say, if it's included for the length of the stay, since we're coming from such a far distance, we stay longer, and then it makes it SO much cheaper to have the dining plan than just a room only discount. We'd have to eat anyway, so might as well use the dining credits and just pay out of pocket for anything that's not included. But if it wasn't included, I wouldn't pay for it...we could probably eat at the same restaurants cheaper than the dining plan costs. I'm kind of surprised anyone actually pays for it. You have to be pretty strategic to get out of it what you paid. I DO like it for Character Dining buffets!

I have only used the Dining Plan at WDW one time, and that was way back in 2007, when it was well worth the money. I think at that time, the tip was even included in the plan. I was visiting WDW during the month of December, and the friend I was traveling with liked using the plan. I would have been fine without it. However, it worked out great overall.

I priced it out for our trip over Christmas and with bringing our own snacks, and an order from Amazon Prime Now, and paying out of pocket for dinners and one breakfast, and even with adding in the CRT dinner, we came out about $300 ahead by not doing the dining plan.

I'm sure if we had the dining plan I could have got our moneys worth from it. But then I would have had to plan more meals and eat more meals and load up on snacks for the way home.

The last time we used the ddp I think must have been in 2008 or 9. It was better then with the included tip. Now we pretty much eat on the fly. :)

Yes. I found with the dining plan you have to consider food plans in the trip plans and that can be a hassle. With table service that can mean more than an hour out of park or leisure time with travel time taken into consideration. Kids who don’t eat also make it a waste. Then you get kids who want to eat off the adult menu and can’t so you either lose adult credits, or you pay out of pocket. Every family is different. For ours ddp doesn’t work.

I use the shampoo and conditioning bars as well. They smell awesome,:inlove: and I am always amazed as to how long they actually last.:)
The bars are also great when you are traveling as they don't leak and can easily be brought in carry on.
I have never seen a Basin in my part of the wold but there are a lot of Lush stores. I do like them but they are very expensive so I only buy their shampoo bars when I go on a longer trip.

I considered getting a shampoo bar.... but Basin put in all caps KEEP DRY BETWEEN WASHES!!!!! and that scared me off a bit. We have a shelf for soap, but I have no idea if a bar of soap would stay dry on it, LOL. We don't use soap right now ... just body wash.

First off, you changed your name? Haha. :hilarious::hilarious:Anything with to do with @Tuvalu love for lint?;) Second, I don’t leave the soap in the shower. We have a small shelf outside the shower and I put it on it when I am done.

I did! I didn't realize that disney bounding was a "thing" when I made my name... like,... I thought it was just saying "hey I'm going to Disney!!". I learned from these boards though that there's a Disney bounding movement, and there's a LOT of animosity around it. Add in the out of date year, and it just seemed better to change it.

When I made it, I didn't think I'd be sticking around the forums after our trip. Or that I might plan another trip. I was wrong on both counts :inlove:
