can you get jackfruit it's a great substitute for pulled pork
This made me laugh for 2 reasons. 1 my sister is a big meat eater and is highly suspicious of substitutes and don't even get her started on vegan food.
2. We call Jackfruit the stinky fruit. It is very popular in Asia and whole Jackfruits would be carved at breakfast and stink up the hotel restaurant. 🤢

I totally loved it!😚 I forgot tissues but had my scarf to wipe away my tears.
An unexpected bonus was Olaf's Frozen adventure was still being shown before Coco. I know a lot of people thought it was annoying but I enjoyed it.

I don't think it was annoying to people itself, moreso that it was unexpectedly long and nobody was prepared for that. Especially for a kids movie

While I am staying at my sister's I take care of the household. So I do all the shopping, cooking and cleaning. I made a meal plan for this week and the only thing my sister asked me to cook is ginger beer pulled pork. No problem I thought...
Turns out pork shoulder isn't sold at most places. I have been to 3 different supermarkets without luck. The last supermarket was a large Chinese one which was a lot of fun. So many unusual products and loads of yummy food, they did sell pork stomach but no shoulder. I will try a butcher shop tomorrow.
I'd say your best bet is the butcher. I have not had roast since I lived in the US, with the exception of our dinner at 50s Prime Time in 2016, because I can't seem to find any cut of meat for roast. I haven't looked at a butcher, but then, I wouldn't know what the cuts were called in Dutch anyway.

Sorry to hear your kids are ill. I hope they get better soon.
Thanks...poor DS has been in twice since he went to bed, in tears, because his head hurts and he can't sleep. I gave him some paracetamol about 45 minutes ago and he hasn't been back since, so hopefully that helped.

Sending prayers and pixie dust for all of you. xoxo
Thank you! Are you using your🍳? I need to borrow it for hubby. I got 3 hours of sleep last night because he tossed and turned and kept me awake, so I slept downstairs, and then when he took a bath, I came back up to sleep, and when he got out of the bath, he closed the bedroom door, but didn't latch it. There's a draught in our room so the door kept banging against the frame, meanwhile he was downstairs watching TV. So I had to get up to open the dang door so it would stop banging. So....very tired. THEN because I'm so tired, I didn't feel like cooking, and HE didn't feel like cooking, so we went and got easy just add water type meals, but we each got a different thing. DS's had to be done in the microwave, the rest in separate pans on the stove. So he asks me if I need help or if I've got it, and I say I need help because I can't do 4 meals at once. What does he do? Stands in the kitchen playing on his phone...I put all the groceries away, he's still playing....I get DS's meal going in the microwave...he's still playing. I get all 3 meals going on the stove...he's still playing. The microwave is beeping that it's done...I'm still stirring and trying to keep the 3 stovetop meals from burning...he just stands there playing. The microwave beeps again....he doesn't move. The 3rd time it beeped, I finally ask him if he will PLEASE take care of DS's meal so I can concentrate on the stove stuff...he says " Just open the microwave door and close it...it will shut up." So I said " Yes, but I won't know if the meal is done or not, will I?? I need to check it, but I can't do that AND all this at the same time!" So he rolls his eyes and says " Well how am I supposed to know if it's done or not??" OMG....he's a better cook than I am, so basically all that translated to "When I asked if you needed help, what I really meant was, I'm going to go sit and watch TV while you make dinner" and he never actually expected me to take him up on the offer to help and he was doing his darndest to make me do it myself anyway. It's microwave lasagna...not rocket science. Take it out, feel the top in the middle...does it feel cold? Then put it back in for 2 minutes. Geez....do you need help wiping your rear, too??

She wants to go to see her friends, class not so much.
Well, I hope, for your sake, that she gets to go back tomorrow. My kids actually don't like missing school. Well...DS liked missing when he was at his old school, but he actually does like the learning, he just didn't like the social aspects and every day at home was a day he wasn't bullied, so he enjoyed that. But now that he has a new school, he LOVES school and didn't even want vacation...he's not happy that he can't go to school. I'm enjoying not having to go all the way to his school to pick him up while hacking up a lung and I'm secretly hoping I can keep him home a few days until I'm over the crud. But, I'm not dependent on MY job, so if I have to call in sick, it's not a huge deal. I hope you can figure something out if you have to work. Snow days can be a pain!!

Well hello everyone! I finished my Eagle Scout paperwork and just need to take it downtown. In addition, I'm starting weekends at my job, which has been PACKED due to the cold.

Well done!! Now, if you've finished your Eagle Scout paperwork, is that the final step in the process? I know that working toward Eagle Scout status is quite involved. Once you reach that level, it's also something good to include on a resume. I knew a guy that was an Eagle Scout (years ago), and he told me it actually opened some doors for him when he was job hunting.

Don't tempt me. I was given Ferera Roche chocolates (which have hazel nuts, the only nuts I can eat, found out in WDW a few years ago, don't ask how) and Giradeli chocolates at work. They have stayed at work for the sake of my waistline. However, last time I was in Hershey, I brought home full size Kit Kat bars and there's still half a dozen of them in the pantry and I'm trying not to think about that...
