With the windchill, that's what it was here. They had EMTs out last night in case anyone started showing frostbite symptoms.

It's a major problem in Baltimore City with the homeless population. There's been a standing code blue alert for a while now.

There's talk of the s word on Wednesday night into Thursday. I'll probably just request to work from home Thursday and Friday if that's the case. Friday we're only getting highs in the teens.
Our high Friday is supposed to be 4*. :bored: Our town opened a warming center for anyone who needs a place warmer than their home to hang out.

Aw....poor kid. Did he eat too much junk food or was he really sick?
Someone tried to drive down our street at 12:30, when everyone was out lighting fireworks. We live on a really quiet street, rarely any traffic, and I'm sure it was someone who was visiting someone who lives on the street, but there's not much space to light fireworks other than in the street, so I'm not sure why they didn't just wait for 30 more minutes!
It was mostly eating too much junk food plus having a bad cough that made my nephew sick.
When I was making plans for New Year's Eve with my Australian sister in law she didn't understand why I wouldn't drive until at least an hour after midnight. After she saw what happened at midnight in The Netherlands she was happy to stay inside until it died down.

Just postec that site. They no longer have only assigned dining. You have early dining, late diing or open dining from 5:45 to 9:30 p.m. The only drawback to open dining is it's first come, first seated so you may be waiting with a pager for awhile. we always choose late assigned seating.
That's good to know but to be honest we love Norwegian and have already booked our next cruise with them. I only booked the Carnival cruise because at the time Norwegian wasn't sailing out of Australia yet.

So I am not ok with these biting temps we are having right now. :mad:Freezing rain on NYEve took everyone by surprise. We do have cold temps here in our NC mountains but haven't had it this cold, this early for years. This is reminding me of when I was a kid growing up. We missed tons of school in January because of the frigid temps and snow. We had to go on Saturdays to make it up in Feb. It is going to be a cruel, depressing winter!! We may have to move to warmer climates.
Shotgun. @Gabe1 I called it first:D

SoCal looks pretty good. In the sixties in Los Angeles right now.
Sounds good but then you have to factor in earthquakes, fires, and mudslides. Aside ftom mostly ok weather, that state is a disaster. The high taxes kind of suck too.

Which ship on that line is good? I heard it is super crowded.

Also, my deepest and sincerest condolences and prayers to all of y'all that have lost loved ones, no matter how recent or long ago.
Not a day goes by that I am not grateful for the great fortune of our family over the years.
We know we have been blessed, and we do not take it for granted.
Your dad looks great! I get the don't take things for granted. We lost our Papa Ray (ex-FIL) right before Christmas. He was only 62. Your family always has quite the spread of food. :hungry:

On Saturday I visited Den Bosch, the city I was born in.
I ate a Bosche Bol which is a large profiterole filled with sweetened cream and topped with chocolate ganache.

With a very full tummy I walked to the market, as long as I can remember the town has had a market on Wednesday mornings and all day Saturday. The flower stalls are my favorite as I love the smell.
You can also buy fruit and vegs, fabric, cheese, meat, fish and an assortment of other things.

My next stop was the St.Jan cathedral.

I’m betting there will be enough residents from a chunk of states proclaiming DONE. Tomorrow weather reports state snow in Northern Florida and Snow Flurries in Orlando. So where do the Southern most states Bolt to?

I remember hearing stories of flurries in Orlando. cold flurry and pool weather within the week. Works for me. It's been bad long enough even my dh wants to run away:eek: Usually it's almost March before he pulls out his retirement countdown calendar
