Mom came from a Ford family and pop came from a Chevrolet family.
The only reason I'm driving the 17+ year old Chevy Malibu that I am now is 'cause it was, essentially (someone owed my pop a favor and wouldn't take no for an answer, mom and pop didn't need the car, and, my second bulletproof Hyundai was finally on the way out, sooo...) free...!!!!! :joyfull:
So far, even as old as it it is (again, knocking on my wooden head :cyclops:) it has only shredded a fuel pump. Yep, the impeller blades on the fuel pump were made of plastic. I hoped they had begun to make them out of something stronger after that, but, nope...the mechanic informed me they are still plastic. :cyclops: Well, one way or another ;), at least I won't own that car when the next one goes out if on the same schedule...!!! ;)

For some reason , youngest DD felt the need to trade her GMC truck in for a Chevy Traverse. Beautiful vehicle and drives so nice...but, nothing but an injector problem PITA. 3 so far, 3 more to go
Before she bought it, I told her my THH rule for myself when actually having to pay for a car...those are Toyota, Honda, Hyundai.
I don't care what the cost difference is up front (within reason, of course;)), but you'll save money out the beeeeehind in the long run.
She is now also in the market for another vehicle and looking at Toyotas...!!!
Also, DWifey is still driving her 2010 Toyota Camry without problem one...!!!!!!! :)

I could care less about cup holders in a car 'cause my whiskey bottles never fit in them anyway... :bored:
Wait...........did I just post that out loud  ;)

And, in closing...
New is awesome, but, but you're always gonna' get way more than your money's worth on about a 1-1.5 year old car with low mileage...!!! :)
That's ok I have trouble finding cup holder that fit wine bottles:angelic: and yes slight used works out better unless you keep them until forever. Works out well when we do that:joyfull:

Hahaaa...!!! :hilarious:
Yep, the first new vehiculage I ever bought was my '85 Mustang GT with the 5-speed stick...the return of the American Muscle Cars in the mid 80's after 70's-early 80's smog motor carp.
So funny though...
A young guy pulled up to the convenience store next to me in a new Mustang GT recently. I asked him how many horses those things were pullin' these days (I already had a rough idea it was wayyyyyyy more than the 225 bhp mine was pullin' back in '85), and he responded "450 horsepower!"  OH MYYYYYYY!!!!! :jawdrop: :hilarious:
Plus, I googled it all, and sure enough, sooo many American cars out there again these days with horsepower and torque ratings off the flippin' chain...!!!!!

Hahaaa, on the wine bottles, too...!!!!! :hilarious: ;)

And yes, I drove our 2 Hyundais into the ground. Other than DWifeys Camry, they have been the best cars we've ever owned...!!!!!

As I've posted before, we've also owned two pieces of Dodge carp that were wonderful vehicles to drive...when they were actually able to drive. We will never give any money to them ever again.

Bottom line...THH rules...!!!!!!! :joyfull: :D ;) :)

Hubs has did the Polar Plunge around here a couple years ago. Around here it is a fun raiser event for the Special Olympics. He was on a team with a church member who has a son with severe special needs. Their team raised about $3500 for the fund raiser. He couldn't be on the team last year because of his pneumonia and I won't let him this year because of his ankle (even though it should be well beyond healed). I just don't like the idea of him jumping into freezing water.

That is awesome of your hubs!!!!
Maybe the cold water would heal it all immediately...?! o_O
Never mind, I was just outside to cover and drip our 2 hose bibs, and my sciatica doesn't feel any better for it...!!!!! :in pain: :hilarious: ;) :)
Seriously, I hope he feels better very soon...this seems to be taking a long time to heal for him... prayers to both of you.

I'm excited that it's my birthday soon... not excited that I'm leaving my teenage years behind!
My teenage years are so far behind me that they are nothing more then a speck of dust in the past. However, there are a few years between then and Old Fart like myself that can be a lot of fun, a lot of memories and lot's of opportunities to be everything you ever wanted to be. Knowing what I know today, oh how I wish I could get back there and do it again.

Oldest dd just helped me download it from YouTube and then converted it for me and synced it to my phone. Kids can be helpful at times.:)

Awesome! Enjoy jamming to the song.

Right now he is up to 75% on his ankle on Tuesday he can walk 100% with the aid of his crutches and by Jan 23 he should be walking 100% with the boot and might be able to take it off that day. Thanks for the well wishes.

The dog has frozen her paws at least twice today, in the negative temperatures. She tends to dilly dally outside especially if the neighbor dogs are out. One time I thought I would have to get her as she stopped moving and was standing on only 3 paws and alternating paws. Each time she comes in she looks at me like it is my fault it is so cold.

Happy New Year! I unfortunately have no fireworks photos because the kids had just barely gone outside when one of the neighbors, who use the big huge commercial grade fireworks that cost 25 bucks for one rocket, set off a really big rocket, which exploded and then shot into DD's leg on its way down. Fortunately for her, she said it was no longer hot, so she didn't get burned, but she does have a pretty spectacular bruise on her leg. That kind of put an end to the fun. DS and DH continued to light the rest of our fountains (we don't do the big fireworks) and DD and I watched from inside. I was inside anyway because I still have a fever. I hope the rest of you have a nicer transition into the new year. I'm going to bed.

Oh dear. That is unbelievable. Thank goodness the worst that dd got was a bruise.
