So here's how my birthday went yesterday. We ordered pizza from my favorite local place, my mom visited and she and my daughter got me a new George Foreman. (I see steak in my future! :hungry: )

I was so tired from getting everything ready for today I was asleep by 7. What a party animal I've become. :joyfull:

Ha! I can relate to that--on New Year's Eve, I'm usually asleep by 9:00--I'm useless!! (Hubs and I "toast" New Year's to each other at early dinner that night, because he knows I won't be up at midnight.) ;)

We can use a small dose of pixie dust here. Winter weather advisories have been posted from our house to where we're supposed to travel. I have a roast and all the fixings just incase so we'll be fine here no matter what but I did want my boys and my dh to get to that side of the family tomorrow. getting them next weekend will do in a pinch dh has Friday off:cautious:

We still have ice here, but hoping some of that will melt today. I'm not going out to church this morning due to the ice. At least we're getting about 4 inches of snow overnight--that's fine, as you can easily get around in snow. Ice, not so much . . .

Snow doesn't scare me, I hate it but can get around in it. It's the ice that may keep us at home.

BBQ meat balls
2 large chickens deboned shredded
Gravy
Grandmas stuffing
Green bean casserole
Fresh green beans garlic butter
Fresh carrots
Cubeded potatoes with butter and onion baked
Garlic mashed potatoes and sour cream and chive
Green jello
My grandmas mayo potato salad
Fresh baked beans
Garlic corn
Cranberries

Bought

Hawaiian bread
3 types of coffee cake

Nobody best ask what’s to eat until after New Years :hungry:

It all sounds good!

Wow. I like the brightly colored lights. But most of all, I can't get over how neat your room is. (Ours is sort of cluttered . . . even without the tree . . .:cautious: )
Ummm... yeah, that was one corner. :D
Breakfast of croissants and Kona coffee. Then off to the brother in laws for the main meal. Hassle free christmas for us.
We really haven't been in a festive spirit and haven't even decorated or put up a tree. Roll on 2018.
Hope that 2018 will bring you and Mrs. Ferret more merry.

We usually pull up the countdown for Edinburgh online and celebrate with them. There's no way I'm staying up until midnight my time, lol

Sounds like a great day!:) The bakery case looked delicious. How was the cookie? I always wonder about quality when places franchise out. Your tree is beautiful. Have a Merry Christmas! I know it will be quiet. ;)

We shared the cookie last night (the dog got a little piece too). In general I'm am not a sugar cookie fan but this one looked so festive I gave into temptation. The cookie was covered in fondant and usually I prefer icing. The cookie was nice and thick (like I like) and was soft and crisp at the same time (if that makes sense) and had a nice flavor and the fondant was just the right amount. We also bought chocolate peanut butter cupcakes to have for breakfast this morning (healthy I know). The cupcake was good, a little dense but still had a nice moisture to it and the peanut butter icing had a pleasant flavor in which chocolate and peanut could both be tasted without overwhelming each other. Overall I think the bakery was very good. I think one of our local bakeries cupcakes are just as good though. I would stop again though, and the cookie was my favorite of the two things we got.

Merry Christmas to all of my Chit Chat friends.
