This was a good read! This is the video I watched a while back that finally helped me stop having a panic attack every time I thought about the crowds:
Seeking opinions
Some of you may remember that we have plans to see Savannah 12/ 26 and arrive at Atlanta on the afternoon of 12/27 and leave Atlanta the morning of 12/29
Here's the thing i just discovered. On 12/29 when I am scheduled to drive us (family of 3)from Atlanta all the way back to Brick NJ.... the current forecast calls for 70% chance of snow in Virginia and 60% chance of snow in Baltimore and NJ. Current prediction is for 3 to 5 inches. The following day Brick NJ's forecast is for snow showers w/ gradual clearing.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO???
Having our last breakfast on ship in the dining room right now.
I'm just gonna' put this right here for now, though...!!!!!!!

It is gonna be ok. We will delay our arrival in NJ by a day . My original plan to drive from Atlanta to NJ was not smart to begin with. Over 13 hours on the road then add in time for food and fuel and crankiness...it would have been a long long day. Spending a night in Fredericksburg and then continuing on an additional day is gonna be so much better.I would give you my opinion but it won't be helpful. Despite being from Wisconsin, I'm a total wuss driving in the snow. I avoid it at all costs. Avoid driving in snow, that is my advice. See, not helpful right?
No idea we book through a TA. We get a price from Virgin holidays online and then go see what they can do to match it. Ours is probably more costly than you can get as we have a certain class of travelling we won't go below.I think the best deals for 2018 for your side of the pond are already gone. Paging @Mr Ferret 88
yep. cannot fathom why anyone would want to move from warmth to make snow angles in our snow. Ever. Crazy cold.exactly, yikes!
those images of canada where the roads are surrounded by 12 meter tall walls of snow are also very scary!

at least here they shut the roads down before it gets that bad.
Yah right--loyal dog and all--he looked up for a second, and went right back to sleep, the little creep!!
Sympathy like. She's on the naughty list for sureSo, I forgot to mention, it was 74 in Galveston when we got off the boat...40 here in Austin when we got home. It's 38 in our hood right now.
@MinnieM123 ...!!!!!!!!!!!
That sounds like fun. I don't drink beer but 12 days of wine sounds like a good substituteToday I started something fun for myself, I will share with all of you. I think @donaldtoo might be the most interested.
I am celebrating the 12 Beers of Christmas. For the next 12 days I'm trying a different beer. I went to the store and made two of my own 6 packs with beers I've never had before. I picked out winter/seasonal beers first, then a few internationals, and then some others that looked interesting.
So here goes...Day 1 Schell's Snowstorm Rye beer (From New Ulm Minnesota)
Good, a little bitter with the rye taste but overall not bad.
Sympathy like. It was that way here for a while until during one storm many people wound up trapped in their cars, that was the end of that. Here, never.
