good night
Good morning!
I'd like to learn how people feel about the seemingly fading tradition of mailing Christmas Cards. I HAVE CREATED A SEPARATE THREAD on this topic.... it's on the Chit Chat home page. Please consider going over to that thread to share your thoughts.
I tried asking on THIS thread last night, but after one hour no one responded. I saw post after post appear beyond my question and after the one hour mark I went back to my question and edited it ....reducing it to a simple "good night".
Anyway....good morning friends...and please "visit" my independent Chit Chat thread on Christmas Cards.
Thank You!
:)

Sorry. Did not see that post. I saw the good night one only. I still send out cards. Not the handwritten ones though. I have been sending personalized picture ones from Hallmark the last few years. They print and mail them out. I will say that I am receiving less from others the last bunch of years and that kind of makes me sad. :(

My cousins starting stiffing me with no cards a couple of years ago. Now I'm realizing that they post their family pictures and greet friends and family on Facebook. They probably think: Who needs to spend time and money on cards? I've already wished people a Merry Christmas with various family photos on Facebook. So, I'm getting with the flow and greatly reducing the number of cards I send out as well.

I am so tired today. I always leave my phone on at night in case work needs me. I have email and most other things on silent and family and friends know not to WhatsApp between 10pm and 5.30am. This morning just after 3am my phone starts buzzing, I get up to check and it is my sister in law in Australia. She is so excited because she just finished her last day of work. I didn't have the heart to tell her she woke me up so we chatted for a bit about her upcoming flights and the trip etc.
Normally I would have cut it shorts to go back to sleep but today was my day off so I figured I could sleep in and take it easy today. Maybe even have a nap...
So I go back to bed at 5am only for my work to call me at 6am to ask me to come in. :bawling:

Totally missed it but in my defence I am across the pond so timing doesn't always work.

I missed the original post, but we still send out cards. We take "awkward family photos" every year, and we mail out about 100 cards. After people start receiving them, we post the picture on Facebook so that those who were not included in the 100 cards will get to see them too.

We also print out some photos from the year an include them in the envelope for some of our family.

I'm actually spending tonight and part of this weekend getting ours ready to send out! They arrived last night from the printers!

I guess it is okay when it disappears within a few hours and the temps go above 60 the next day. I just checked the weather and wow that jet stream totally dipped down south just about as far south as the southeastern border of Texas. Crazy. :confused:Oh, and apparently my area is going to see some snow starting in 29 minutes. No temps over 41 for the foreseeable future.:arghh::arghh: Praying for a freak winter warm-up. Oh wait, we're not in winter yet.:banghead::rolleyes: Enjoy the warmth down in Florida @Gabe1
Mid 70s yesterday 80 today. 17 at home.

Some examples of our cards (I cannot share this year's yet just in case someone I know is on here - I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise)

We changed it up a bit and did a themed card this year because it seems like the "awkward family photo" thing is getting a bit too mainstream. Everyone is doing it. I sound like a hipster right now, LOL. We just try to have fun with it :)

Many points for the beard in the middle pic.
