As long as they it "delivered" they are no longer responsible for the package.
I think that's pretty bogus because they are supposed to deliver it TO you...if you aren't there, they might as well just drop it off at the nearest mall and let anyone have it...if they don't need proof (signature) to show that they actually did deliver it to the right person, how do we hold them accountable? They could just keep it and SAY they delivered it.

This is true. Amazon is piloting a program in our area where you can give them a key and they can leave the package inside the door. I don't know anyone who trusts them enough to give them a key though, LOL. Maybe a garage door opener....

This time of year a lot of packages go missing. Amazon is usually really good at replacing stolen goods, but we haven't had luck at other retailers. For this reason, most of our online holiday shopping comes from Amazon.

So....this was my day.

DD did the top border...she's still learning and wanted to practice, so I did the bottom one to show her how to do it, and she did the top one and I repaired a couple of places. DS is thrilled with it. I felt bad though...I told him I'd make something for him to take to chess tonight to share and I totally forgot, and this is for tomorrow, so I had to get chips for him to take to chess instead of making something. Mom fail. I totally dropped the ball.

It does get busy, especially 2nd Christmas day. But they have early magic hours for guests staying on property so we can get a few of the must does in. I sort of grew up with the Efteling as it was much cheaper when I was a kid, so for me just being there is enough. At Christmas they have big campfires and carrolers etc. plus pretty decorations. We also have 5 days in the park so plenty of time to see and do everything.
5 days?? Wow!! We went in the Summer just for 1 day and got almost everything in that we wanted to do. There were things I would have liked to do, but DS didn't want to, so we skipped those. We did everything else though. I hope you have a great time!!

My cousins starting stiffing me with no cards a couple of years ago. Now I'm realizing that they post their family pictures and greet friends and family on Facebook. They probably think: Who needs to spend time and money on cards? I've already wished people a Merry Christmas with various family photos on Facebook. So, I'm getting with the flow and greatly reducing the number of cards I send out as well.
I don't send out cards simply for the fact that it's too expensive with international postage. I would have to send 100+ cards to the US, plus about 50 to 100 here. It would cost me hundreds of dollars to do. So I don't.

I am so tired today. I always leave my phone on at night in case work needs me. I have email and most other things on silent and family and friends know not to WhatsApp between 10pm and 5.30am. This morning just after 3am my phone starts buzzing, I get up to check and it is my sister in law in Australia. She is so excited because she just finished her last day of work. I didn't have the heart to tell her she woke me up so we chatted for a bit about her upcoming flights and the trip etc.
Normally I would have cut it shorts to go back to sleep but today was my day off so I figured I could sleep in and take it easy today. Maybe even have a nap...
So I go back to bed at 5am only for my work to call me at 6am to ask me to come in. :bawling:
Oh no!! Do you get a different day off instead?

@Cesar R M I'm having printer problems again. It was working fine. My computer says the printer is offline. I pinged it like the other day. It talked back to my computer. Went to print a test page and nothing happened. I just have stuff in the printer queue. The troubleshooter never works. Oh wait, now the test page printed, but the document I am trying to print is still in the queue. Says printing but nothing happens. Now it says the printer has 1 document in queue. Ridiculous. Thinking of just restarting the dumb computer.
Cancel it and resend it.

There must be something blocking the communication correctly.

Do you see the printer in your PRINTER AND SCANNERS section?

If you do, click on it then select MANAGE (in windows 10)
then to PRINTER PREFERENCES.
Now this is tricky as every printer as its own system.

But there should be a MAINTENANCE area or something similar that allows changing options of the printer.

What you need to check is the "printer wake up" or "standby" settings to see if your computer is set to "wake up" the printer when its in low power mode (standby, idle, etc..)

If the printer is NOT visible in the list, then something is definitively blocking the drivers from seeing the printer.

Id recommend that you try going to the printer with your problematic computer and put a USB cable and see if it sees the printer as USB device, and then print on it.

If it prints via USB then its the wireless connection. If it does not see the printer, then its the computer and the drivers not sending the proper connections.

I still think its an awful idea. The same day shipping service used by amazon.. is subcontracted if I remember correctly.
and I read that most of them are felons and criminals.
Giving them your keys is a baaaaaaaaaaaaaaad idea.

It is subcontracted and it is a bad idea,... but most of the drivers we've had also had Uber and whatnot decals on their cars or been young kids like pizza delivery people. I'm not saying I'd trust them in my house, but I'm pretty sure the majority aren't felons and criminals.

Thank you, it is much appreciated and needed today.

Some examples of our cards (I cannot share this year's yet just in case someone I know is on here - I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise)

We changed it up a bit and did a themed card this year because it seems like the "awkward family photo" thing is getting a bit too mainstream. Everyone is doing it. I sound like a hipster right now, LOL. We just try to have fun with it :)
Oh I love them! Thanks for sharing.:)
Many points for the beard in the middle pic.
Personally, I like beardless. :D Now you're going to show me a picture of a beardless chameleon or something, right?;)
So....this was my day.

@RedNoseMickey My half brother lives in Australia with his family. He told me to install What's App months ago. Never could get it to work. Installed it again after seeing your post. I messaged him not expecting anything back since it is a 16 hour difference between the East Coast and Melbourne. He surprisingly answered. He was on his way home from a Christmas party for his office at 2am their time. We rarely get to chat so that was awesome. Thanks. I tried to use imessage with him before but he was afraid of fees. This is free plus we can send each other long videos. Thanks!:):)

I guess it is okay when it disappears within a few hours and the temps go above 60 the next day. I just checked the weather and wow that jet stream totally dipped down south just about as far south as the southeastern border of Texas. Crazy. :confused:Oh, and apparently my area is going to see some snow starting in 29 minutes. No temps over 41 for the foreseeable future.:arghh::arghh: Praying for a freak winter warm-up. Oh wait, we're not in winter yet.:banghead::rolleyes: Enjoy the warmth down in Florida @Gabe1
Sympathy like sending warm {{HUGS}} and some hot chocolate
