Out of Galveston.
Costa Maya, Belize, and Cancun are our ports of call.
Also, I forgot (hey, I don't plan these things :cyclops:) we're also doing a Carnival cruise next summer out of Galveston. Ports of call are Montego Bay, Grand Cayman, and Cancun again.
The Christmas cruise is all 6 of us (SonIL included).
The summer cruise is all 6 of us, plus MIL, BIL, niece, and one of DWifeys aunts.
They should both be awesome cruises...!!!!!!! :joyfull: :)
Have lots of fun and don't forget the pics

Going to a huge Christmas craft fair (it's once a year at the MA World Trade Center). I usually don't buy much of anything, but I just like to putter around and gawk at stuff. (I probably spend more at the food concession for lunch, than buy from vendors. ;) ) Pain in the butt to get there, with connections via 2 buses and 2 trains though. But, I felt like doing something different this morning.

Awesome!
Hope ya' bought me some geeeeeraaate stuff...!!!!! :joyfull: :D ;)

Around the corner from my DD apartment is a 2 million dollar home. It took the dude 5 years to build cause dude was a Pain in the *** and every general contractor quit and ultimately the subcontractors wouldn't work on the home either. AnyWho they moved in around this time last year. They put up a stunning Story and Half tree in the center of the bay window. Mind you still today on the first floor the only furniture they have is a dining room table and patio furniture. There are not window treatments yet on any windows any floor so...no need to take the Christmas Tree down right??? Not getting in the way??? We came home from Disney in midish September....the Christmas Tree was down. :cyclops: Why bother now? Wonder if they will put it up again.

They can get away with a fully lit tree through September because it is inside the home. We now have ordinances in our little hamlet that any holiday lights or decorations can be up no longer than 6 weeks. Amen. We all did get a waiver a few years back when we had a blizzard and then a month when the temps didn't go above freezing. The first fine for week one is $100. Week #2 is $500, week #3 $1000....it has defined the zoning laws to true seasons.
We have one neighbor who decorates outside for almost every holiday. Some holidays are done tastefully and some a bit tacky

Yea, the original location in Austin is almost like a Cheech & Chong kinda' thing!!!!! :hilarious:
I can definitely appreciate the different styles for so many different locations across the nation. Attention to detail...plus, it sounds like their food quality is following through everywhere, as well...!!!!! :)

It is fun to see all the designs that franchises have to pick from. My niece does the interior designs for new and remodeled McDonalds, she works for McD's Corporate. Depending on the building they have or picked to build she has many different ways to class these fast food places up from the red and yellows of yesteryear. Wendy's around here is doing the same thing.

I love Christmas decorations. Some people have some awesome displays, so wildly fun tacky ones. They just need to leave when the season is over. Our area goes over the top for Halloween even more than Christmas. I have a neighbor that his wired for sound to come in over the car stereo for both Halloween and Christmas. He is an electrician. It is his 2 story home, lots on each side of his home, porch and front yard. Lights dance. I am in awe. Still I wouldn't want to look at skeletons at Easter.

Sounds like some good locations. I'm sure you will all have fun.

I see from your posted response to me that you will have verandas, I'm sure you will like that. I didn't mind the inside cabin we had the first cruise but having the veranda was nice on the next ones. I really loved sitting out there in the morning in my pj's watching the ocean with my morning coffee. It was really relaxing.

As happy as I am for you I hope it's not just the tourist areas that get done.

I'd be surprise if the tourist areas will be what they were by January. Our Illinois Rep. Luis V. Gutiérrez has been to Puerto Rico 3 times now after the hurricane. He is there now on his 3rd visit. He is bringing back real statistics from his boots on the ground visiting many areas including San Juan. We have a news anchor here too that was born there and went. She couldn't get through her 'live' without loosing it. I can't imagine at the pace we are progressing that by January there will be too much that 'open' to tourists. All so sad.
