Our tree goes up in 2 weeks. It used to go up sooner because dh knew it annoyed me. :banghead: I have since been able to say that it cannot go up until after youngest dd's birthday which is in the middle of November. Hooray for me for putting my foot down.

Our Big tree and outside decorations would go up the day after ThanksGiving. It was a 4 day weekend for all of us and gave us time...

Since my DD went off to college (wow 7 years ago) I've put it up later and later. Now that I have this cute small tree I don't mind it being up in December. Our decorations would come down New Years Day. As the years went on they came down as early as December 26th when the Big Tree still went up.

I know your question wasn't directed at me, but here's how I make it...

Cut them in half, scoop out the seeds. Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

LOAD each half with brown sugar. Add a pat of butter to each half.

Bake until soft.

Thank you!

And there are never any worries here about jumping in and adding to the dozens of on going topics we have going at a time. It is just how we roll. :inlove:

Thanks for the information. I don't watch much news, so now I can sleep better. :inlove::inlove::inlove:

I do not watch the news nearly as much as I had my entire adult life. I am a news junkie, I had liked knowing what is happening. Now I sleep better without being annoyed with all the blah blah blah in recent months and I certainly don't need anything else adding more nights with insomnia. So the news junkie is on hiatus.

Hubby liked the chicken so much, he had it every night! Along with sourdough rolls, and apple pie for dessert. I like to try new things...so I tried different things, like short ribs, vegetables, and chateau potatoes. I'll see if he took a picture of my plate!

I have my favorites at Disney. This trip I made a point of trying far more new things while still indulging in favorites. I only got burnt at Roar'n Forks one meal. It was some Grit concoction. It was a texture thing and I flung it into the garbage and bought a kids Mickey Waffle meal.

We all agreed that this was our favorite new meal of our trip, from the new restaurant in Pandora.
The meals we had that were beyond awesome. The fish was mine.

Our family situation is a mess. We don't know anything about Thanksgiving or Christmas. This divorce situation is still getting on my nerves. Next year, I'm thinking of going on a cruise at both holiday's. Son-In-Law won't give daughter the times he wants the boy's...so we are all waiting....

Blah. When children are involved. Disappointing.

Good morning @figmentfan423, I've often thought of changing my tree throughout the year..to celebrate all holidays....then I came to my senses and figured that is too much work. I am celebrating the holiday's with a small scale holiday landscape on my ottoman's . Maybe I have a picture somewhere, if not I'll post around Christmas.

I liked this. I'm a fan of whimsical.

I like this area best. Most everyone is kind, and thoughtful. I'm not into other threads, that have nice people. I got started on here after a bad start on News and Rumor's...I had never been on a thread before and made about every miss take I could. If feel this is my home, and all are considered friends. Including you. I'm from freezing Colorado....Welcome to the chat room!

I remember that. It was ugly. Why I try to stay out of News and Rumors. I dipped into the dogs at Disney thread. Ouch. Lots of hate out there. When we were at the Wilderness for Irma the Dogs were welcomed from the area with their owners for this Hurricane. They brought lots of comfort to those who were nervous about the hurricane. Guests were respectful with their pets. If asked to approach they said yes but never did they wander the resort like it was implied in that thread. Only service dogs went into restaurants and wasn't an issue. I was so surprised by the melt down after actually being there for the days leading up to the hurricane as the Pups and owners arrive and through the hurricane and many days after cause they couldn't return south yet.
Why I don't dabble elsewhere often. I do and usually regret it. Some just scan for trouble and dive on in.

Some of us are more like family than just friends. And like family we don't always agree but most of us like you said are kind.

Good morning to everyone! I'm still on ship's time. That's okay...I'm slowly getting caught up on the laundry. A special shout out to @Mr Ferret88. I see you were on a few minutes ago. Being back home is a bummer, isn't it? Have a great day to all. I'm doing my late fall clean-up of the house. It's donate time, and downsize time. I like to start the year with much less stuff. :D:D:D

Good Will is big in this area. They have built their own buildings and are clean and orderly. Drop off is now drive up and they come to you with a bin. We have been there multiple times the last few weeks.
