I look at it pretty realistically. For one, every other week, we hear about something else that is dangerous...often something that was thought to be healthy before...or is still beneficial for some things and dangerous for others. I'm trying to be more healthy, BUT I also realize that things change, so I'm not overly worried about trying to avoid everything that MIGHT possibly cause cancer. It will just make you crazy trying to figure out what's good and what's not. My mom died of breast cancer as did both of my grandmothers, and all the female relatives have had breast cancer, and my grandpa and uncle died of lung cancer and my other grandpa died of a stroke, which I THINK is probably also what happened to my dad. I'm pretty much guaranteed to get breast cancer, though I haven't bothered to get the genetic marker test for it...but basically my philosophy is to just do my self exams, have the tests every couple of years, and just stay on top of it so it can be caught early and I can get treatment before it's too late. You can't always prevent it from happening, but if you are prepared for it, hopefully it won't be as bad as it could. And as you said no one can live forever.

I think just take reasonable precautions, with food and medical checkups in life, and hope for the best. And while genetics do play some role in people, it's not a "given" that a pattern of illness in family tree, will affect all the offspring either.

My grandmother used to say, "Everything in moderation." That seemed to be a balanced approach to life. :)

Before I forget AGAIN, DD and I started our Minnie Mouse ears project for our DLP trip in October. We started with our least favorite materials, because...learning curve. SOOOO glad we did that. We only have 4 sets made so far, so we have more, but we discovered the wider bands are SOOOO much easier to do, so I need to see if I can get more of those.

My first pair:

I'm glad you're having a good day so far!! Mine is miserable. My kid thing has been sick all weekend, so of course she hasn't been sleeping well. Last night she was up at 2:36 am, and didn't go back to sleep. Which means I've been up since 2:36 am. I'm on autopilot today at work.

That's rough when you have to drag yourself into work, and go through the motions all day, until you can leave and go home. Hope your daughter feels better and sleeps better this evening, for the both of you.

Oh brother . . . that's Miami and south through the Keys, I think, right?
Actually, some models forecast the storm will line up with the coast of Florida as the hurricane turns north, brushing ALL the coast starting by Miami before going to the north. And entering by the Carolinas.

So far, 1 model says its going to impact Miami directly and go upward by the coast (hitting Westpalm, orlando, daytona beach, etc..)

2 models says its going to be between the Bahamas and Cuba, before turning up towards Florida again...
2 Models says its going to the Havana area and into the Gulf.

We were off by noon to the MK and then a bit of Epcot but we were exhausted from the lack of sleep overnight and left with the start of Illuminations on a EMH!

While I like the bigger boats they are hot. No A/C and no fans. Off to the MK

We did a lot at the MK but was more crowded than it was suppose to be. UnderSea, Dwarf, Haunted Mansion, Thunder, Pooh, Pirates, Jungle. Haunted needs some help in their queue. One without A/C but has fans and none of them work and they are mounted every few feet. Didn't help one of the 'tour' group men kept shouting out even in the stretch room. We stopped for many photopasses at the MK.

And off to Epcot...not crowded at all. Only Test was not doable.

We did a few things but were rapidly fading and still had to unpack as we should be here a while.
