Before I forget AGAIN, DD and I started our Minnie Mouse ears project for our DLP trip in October. We started with our least favorite materials, because...learning curve. SOOOO glad we did that. We only have 4 sets made so far, so we have more, but we discovered the wider bands are SOOOO much easier to do, so I need to see if I can get more of those.

My first pair:

I'm glad you're having a good day so far!! Mine is miserable. My kid thing has been sick all weekend, so of course she hasn't been sleeping well. Last night she was up at 2:36 am, and didn't go back to sleep. Which means I've been up since 2:36 am. I'm on autopilot today at work.
{{HUGS}} from a nice safe distance. Hope she gets well soon so both of you can get some sleep.

I called her school because I've been worried about her all day. they said she was doing fine and acting totally normal today and was currently asleep for her nap.

I'm now a little worried that my little monster can function on so few hours of sleep but I cannot, LOL

How do you lose boots??? We always put a string on the mittens and put them through the sleeves so they couldn't lose them. My daughter LOVES the snow. I think it was in January, we got more snow at one time than I'd ever seen here and there was a MASSIVE snowball fight at school. It was AWESOME. The kids were having a BLAST...there were very few who chose to go inside, and the teachers let them stay out extra long in the morning to play because they so seldom get to play in the snow. So instead of starting at 8:30, they let the kids play until about 8:45 before going in. It was great to see them all playing together and having so much fun.
I have no idea how that happens, but, it does and with alarming frequency. These guys are good!

I'm sorry. I feel your pain. Today was the anniversary of loosing Walt last year. Yep. I'm still not over it.

To all my friends on the east coast please keep an eye on Irma and hope that it goes out to sea. @Goofyernmost and @epcotisbest that means you and @93boomer should really be checking
Thanks Figgy!! We are keeping an eye on it. My best friend lives in FL so I am really hoping it misses her. If that thing tracks through FL, it eventually goes over us too. Not happy about that either. :arghh:

My uncle just moved to Ft Lauderdale from Jersey and has no hurricane windows.

Well, we lose shoes in the house all the time because the kids don't put them where they are supposed to go. But when you are outside, in the snow, boots should be on the feet and I don't know HOW one would lose them!!
The niece once lost a flip flop at the beach. Got in the car with one shoe on. We've no idea what happened to the other one.

You know, I'm puzzled, Irma's atmospheric pressure isnt that low, yet its packing 295Km/h winds (185mph) already.

Wilma and Gilbert for example, required less than 890 hPa of pressure to handle such speeds.

Patricia.. the 2nd most strongest storm ever recorded.. had a record low 872 hPa and 345Km/h winds (*215mph)

And the biggest tropical storm in recorded history (Tip, which was 2,200 Km long) was 870 hPa.

I don't like naming all the storms. They do it even during winter. So annoying.

What ever happened to the good old days of naming storms. Blizzard of 78 , Hurricane of 38. We haven't gotten hit by a hurricane since 92. Tropical storms yes but no hurricanes.
