Today is a really good day:joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull: I have a real first world problem, NOT!:joyfull: I'm getting my nails done this weekend in my travels and won't be getting them done again until well after Labor Day. Let's see go with one last summer color or jump right into fall colors early. After the last couple of months this is the type of problem I need.:joyfull: Some fashionista advice would be welcome.
A couple of things to consider...first, what's the weather like where you'll be spending the most time? If the weather is summer-ish and you'll be wearing clothes made for warm weather, go with the summer color to match those clothes. If it's looking more like fall already and you will be dressing accordingly, go with the fall color that will match THOSE clothes.
Second, also weather-related....is it sandal/flip flop weather? Are you just getting a manicure, or a mani-pedi? Because then, they should probably match or at least compliment each other if you will be wearing open-toed shoes.
You could also just go with the wishful thinking and pick a summer color in hopes that it WILL remain warm and summery.

Thanks, Minnie.
Yea, hurricane Harvey is gettin' pretty crazy at this point. I saw computer models earlier this week and things were already not looking good. Now, they are definitely not looking good. Pretty sure we'll be fine up here though. A lot of the Texas coast, and the south-central and southeastern parts of the state appear that they are going to get whacked, and then it's gonna' stall and churn out buckets of rain.

Temperatures have definitely cooled down around here, and the sky's have been cloudy and drizzly-ish all day.

This thing is, pretty much, as big as the whole western part of the Gulf of Mexico...it's a monster.
I had a feeling it would go this way.
We haven't had a major hurricane hit in a while. With about 370 miles of general Gulf coastline, I guess it's our turn, again.
Stay safe!

Hahaaa...! Thanks! :)
But, unfortunately, I have never been involved in designing/planning a school, nor have I ever worked for a firm that has. I'm bettin' there's someone around here that knows more about that than myself. Although, our commercial division has designed a few daycare centers. :)
Bet you'd be smart enough not to make one narrow pathway through which 200 kids have to go single file every day. Don't have to be an architect to know that's a bad idea, but you'd be a pretty poor architect if you DON'T know that's a bad idea. You don't strike me as a poor architect from the things you've shown us. Nor can I see you putting in a steep, narrow, slippery staircase for those same 200 kids. Schools may not be your expertise, but a bit of common sense goes a long way.

Wow. This all just sounds like a total community/powers-that-be disconnect. Begining, of course, with the chosen property to put this on that, apparently, the architects had no choice but to shoehorn (sound familiar...? :cautious: ;)) it all in there (although, there's always the choice of the firm to turn down taking on the project...which, of course, can also, many times, be a bad business move... :cyclops:).
So sad that all couldn't take the time to work together to make it better for the kiddos.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it never is...just take the time to make it as right as reasonably possible. Is that too much to ask...?
That's exactly it...if you are determined to do it, at LEAST make it safe for the kids. I overheard some other parents talking about the same things this morning...how unsafe and inconvenient is. Everyone sees it, and we're not professionals.
DS got into a bike accident this morning because of the narrow entrance to the parking lot...well, it was more the kid who just decided he HAD to be in front of DS and raced to get through before him and cut him off because there's not enough space for 2 bikes at once and DS was already starting to go through. But when you've got 300 people arriving by bike in a 15 minute span of time, who makes an entrance that only one bike can get through at a time, AND you make them step off their bikes as soon as they are through that entrance? That's just designed for accidents there. It's extremely sad that they cared more about their own image than what was good for the people and what is safe, especially for the kids.

That actually made you :depressed: with all of your professed love of cold, snow, and winter...?!?!?!?!?! :jawdrop:
Who the heck are you and what the heck have you done with @MinnieM123...?!?!?!?! o_O

:D ;)

MinnieM123 here! :joyfull: Oh yes, I do love Christmas--but I prefer to build up my anticipation for Christmas and not see the store displays, etc., until after Halloween. As for snow, etc., that can come at any point in the fall, and does not have to be directly connected to Christmas only. :)

I hope they figure out a way so the kids don't get hurt. Sending pixie dust for all the kids and parents.

@donaldtoo , you certainly know your area better than any of us; but again this morning (national news at 4 AM), I was watching Harvey's path to Texas. Austin may not be in the worst part of the hurricane circle, but it still is within the outer part of the circle. Looks like a few days of rain accumulation, and with the wind, there may be a concern about power outages. (I have no doubt that you're supplied with what you need, just in case. And just as a gentle reminder, please fill up the gas tank on your car now, unless already done.)

How about your parents--I know they're very resourceful. I'm assuming they have some nearby neighbors who can check in on them, if need be.

Hoping this storm fizzles out a bit over land.
