I'm so glad for your trip. Everyone needs to get away for multiple reasons. I hope you have a lot of fun.
I'm sure we will! We are planning some day trips here and there during the summer vacation, but we're running out of time. We'd prefer to have nice weather for outdoor stuff, which would mean waiting until the forecast is good to plan it, but my work schedules about 2 weeks in advance and they have scheduled me for every single day for the next 3 weeks, except I have 2 Thursday's off. We want to go to an aquarium, and the Efteling (kind of a Dutch Disney), and do an escape room. So I guess I just need to tell my work I'm not available on certain days so we can plan. But at least we have things to look forward to.

Quick update on oldest DD and SonILs European Vacation...!!!!! :joyfull: ;)

As y'all know, after all the travel craziness, they started in Cologne. After a few days there they headed for Amsterdam for a few days. They're now back in Cologne, and will soon be heading to Prague for a coupla' days. Then back to Cologne to finish up the trip...!!! :)
Have you seen any pictures? What all did they do in Amsterdam? Anne Frank House? Madame Tussauds? Art museums? Naughty museum? Canal tour? There's so much to see there!! We take the kids to Nemo, which is like a big hands-on science museum there. I hope they are having a blast!!

I've thought of bringing Mt Laundry to the Laundromat to just be done with it in a few hours. It has mounted.
When we were in the US for dad's funeral, we discovered the wonder that is a laundromat where you can just dump your clothes off and they will wash them for you!! It was a Godsend for us because we were running around taking care of estate stuff and I didn't have time to sit there and do laundry! Totally worth the $20 bucks to have them do it for me and we could just pick it up at our convenience.

This was about an hour and a half ago, we just missed being let in the building by 10 minutes. They are keeping the rest of us outside for awhile so the news crews can have a large crowd for their shots. At least we are through security and there are some interesting people to look at. We did see John Lassiter doing an interview but that shot is on another camera.

That's the excuse my dh gave for getting an air compressor:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
You could also purchase a mini air blower for electronics, saves money if you do cleaning constantly.

I have one and worth the 1000 pesos I paid for it (air cans are almost 100 pesos a piece, so thats the blower is worth 10 cans) plus.. sometimes the compressed cans of air can throw white residue which is dangerous to components.

Looks like a beautiful weekend is headed for Chicago. I need to finish some gardening in the front of my house. My husband has turned off the AC, and opened up some windows. Moe is shipping like Crazy, and slept again in his usual spot, although my husband did change the dish. I disposed of the one that Miney and Moe used to sleep in together, since she died in that dish. SO sad.

I called my sister last night, after not talking to her since Christmas. I can't believe how different the two of us are. She's becoming our mother. Same habits, and past times. Much different than me. Although when we talk, we think a lot the same on moral and every day issues. Her life is so much different than mine. I'm a city girl, and she loves her suburban life.

These are the BEST places ever when you want to get your comforter or other large bedding washed!!

Wow...that's crazy!! Do they just not have good drainage in the parking lot?

They just had the parking lot redone a couple weeks ago. My money is on a bad installation. We didn't have these issues last year with the old pavement.

My sister and I are the same way. We love each other, but we're very very different.

Admittedly I had hoped for a little rain here so I didn't have to water tomorrow.

I didn't order a freak'n flood or even wish for one!

How are you fairing @MouseDreaming ??? We are getting hit pretty dang hard.
That rain. Unbelievable. Hopefully, that is it for awhile. We did much better than a lot of other places, but still. It was pitch black at what 11 AM for round 2. How is your little stream, which I imagine being closer to a raging river.

It was crazy here but we we're Ok better than Six Flags area or Northshore. Our little river went way over and kept rising for a day. Fish swimming on the concrete and ducks swimming on the grass The river has come down a foot. I'd say if we don't get any rain by Sunday it might be Better The current on the sidewalks was even strong. And yet I've seen it lots worse over the years.

Or they forgot to remove the screen nets under sewer grates they put on so construction materials don't fall in there
