I've never been particularly impressed with it myself, but if I remember correctly, one of their most popular things is waffle fries, which I really don't like. If I'm going to eat chicken, I'd rather go to KFC. But, I also have to admit that in recent years I have boycotted Chick-fil-A because of personal issues I have with the company. So I wouldn't eat there even if I liked it, but it helps that I don't.
I very much agree with that. I have never found the chicken to be any good. It is usually very dry and tasteless and when you couple in the "you must match my morality standards in order to serve or eat low quality chicken" rules, it is an easy, easy choice to just walk on by.

I feel the same way. I rarely ride it, but the ride is always packed. When I do go on, I have a good time. I know that kids like it because they can actually "drive" which is a big thing for them. But a Tron coaster would be pretty cool. Why can't Disney just add some attractions sometimes instead of adding one and taking one away at the same time? That was one of my peeves with the Fantasyland expansion, I felt they could have redesigned Snow White's ride, if they didn't want 2 attractions from the same movie although Disneyland and Disneyland Paris have 2 Alice themed attractions next to each other. But what did they do, they axed it and made a Princess meet and greet, something that could have been built elsewhere.....

Although with the speedway, since that takes up so much space, they probably need the space for something like a coaster.
The hate comes from those that left their inner child behind. I haven't ridden it in 30 years, but, I love seeing the smiles on the faces of the small kids, getting to experience driving for the first time. Please don't take away the joy of childhood from them just because we are all grown up now. To me it simply epitomizes the "it's all about me" attitude that has taken over this country.

While I've never been to Disney, I grew up in California next to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and they have a track ride there. From the looks of it, ours was a touch different and definitely lower speed. It's a motorized coach that has a railroad track down the center. We spent countless hours on that ride "driving". It was our favorite ride in the park. So while I have absolutely zero attachment to the Speedway, I get this sentiment a lot. I'd be really sad if they demolished the Old Fashioned Cars at the Boardwalk.

Oh man..... sad panda moment......

I just learned that they *did* kill off the old fashioned cars :cry::cry::cry: they replaced it with a laser shooting ride game a la Buzz Lightyear.

This is what I meant by the railroad track though:

Dollywood still has one of those, or at least did last time I was there. Let me tell you those made WDW's Speedway seem like Daytona. You had to find a point of reference in order to determine which direction those cars were moving.

Speedway rumor has been around for a while now. I'm not sure how I feel about it because I have a love/hate relationship with that ride

We almost always ride the speedway once. From the time my kids were babies it was a family ride, we went from each of us driving one kid to kid driving each of us and then the family of four racing (lol) each other. We have always had such light heart'd fun.

Still once they lost their sponsor reoccurring issued hmpf the quality of the experience changed. The track was shortened twice as a result less and less cars could operate at a time and those stinky cars needed to be upgraded long ago-they'd never likely pass emissions testing ;) So I will genuinely miss them if they leave completely now but I also understand their desire to create some new things. Just wish they'd bump out of the boundaries of the park like they did for a portion of the FLE vs omitting yet another family ride that is likely to have a height requirement. And yep Snow White to a meet and greet is still annoying. That could have been gutted and re purposed that obsolete attraction to a more modern one.

I don't do well with blowing air with my allergies. I actually removed my ceiling fan for that reason, it seemed to kick up the allergines. I get the noise. I sleep with a TV on. I can ignore it just fine but it i the noise factor that keeps mind from going into its own overdrive, it is my white background noise. My DS and DD also sleep with a TV on for background noise.
I sleep better with the TV on, too. I can't stand the constant ringing in my ears. Drives me nuts, so nights. And the TV masks the air-line noise with planes going over every night.

I agree. $200 for a child's dress up costume is beyond indulgent.

The world blames the millennials for everything. Oddly this kind indulgent behavior came long before Millennials came of age.

Today I read about the new hair doo for Biddity Boop whatever salon. A lesser hair doo for more money to pump more children through. Uproar.
No way in Gods Green Earth I'd have paid over $100 for a hair bun for my DD head to ride a coaster in the MK. As many trips my DD had from 2 months old on...never once did she ask or want $100 upcharge for a premium hair doo nor does she feel slighted by her parents. Sometimes we parents do things right despite the ridiculous Disney pressures. Me a Tomboy. Raised a Non-princess type gal. What can I say hundreds of dollars per visit saved.
We did the same. She never wanted to wear anything but a shorts outfit. Could ride more rides that way.

There isn't too many Disney Movies I've hated and wanted my time spent back. That freak'n Sad glorification I want back. Imagination vs Sad I'll pick imagination to highlight anyday.
I can't imagine anyone wanting to do sad for any reason on a vacation. We get away from life to escape, not be reminded of things that bring out sad emotions. That's so not my thing.
