No thank you!! I grew up in Wyoming, but I'll take the snow over the stifling heat any day!! I just don't do well in the heat.

I really don't have a problem with a pretty wide range of temperature variations, but, I would have a problem living with snow and ice for several months at a time. My DWifey loves heat so much I have been known to make TSSFFBRs in the high 20 temps just to cool off. DWifey keeps the house so darn hot in the winter. Yet, I don't have a problem outside in the crazy heat. Go figure. :cyclops:
And, I really sleep best in cooler air with no stuffiness. Cooler air is easier to breath. I love hot weather, but, I sleep best in cooler temps...!!! ;)

It's 11:45 pm. My neighbors are still setting off fireworks :cry::cry:

So sorry.
Surprisingly, only some of our neighbors finally started tonight, which is quite unusual. Even though their illegal here, they would have usually started a few days ago. So weird, actually.
We had to give our dog Belle some sedation. Our other silly dog, Ranger, is oblivious...!!! :hilarious: :)

We're just hunkering down for tomorrow night.
Stay safe...!

I'll add that too!! We aren't headed to AK this trip, but you never know when you'll need a straw. Plus when she's bored on the plane we can teach her to blow bubbles in some water with it. That won't get annoying at all. :hilarious::hilarious:

My DS first trip to Disney was at 14 months, he learned to walk the day before. If I haven't told you the story of how Disney called the paramedics for him on Day #1 without our knowledge I'll share again.

My DD first trip was cause our pre birth trip was cancelled by my OB so she was 2 months old. I am a strong believer in very large Mary Poppins bags for the airplane to keep them distracted during the flights to and from Disney World. Need advice on seat friendly age appropriate distractions just ask. I also took these type of distractions to our table service restaurants. I think that distractions are the things that many parents don't think of to make their own experience better. My son was a great lover of Teenage Mutant Turtles the 1.0 version. They were always in my bag. They worked in the queues, restaurants, airplane. My DD was more of an intense self occupier. Sticker books, crayons, paper doll and color-form books worked well. I have many of a thing I brought that was small and compact to avoid meltdowns.

I'm the same way to a lesser degree. Demographics I guess. I sleep well in chilly temps. The other day my house hit 80 and it was nasty, sweaty. Yet outside in 80 I was fine. I think it it more the lack of ventilation. Still my allergies haves been haywire this week and it has been on the cooler side for July. As I am going to sleep I just pushed down the AC to a cooler temp. Sleep better.

Tonight is just creepity here. The sky had odd clouds and the fireworks is making weird sky lights and noises.

oh my gosh, those look delicious!

I've kinda through my sensibility to the wind this weekend for the 4th of July where my eating habits are concerned. Kinda what I also do at Disney too.
But at least my taste buds and tummy are happy. Luckily nobody will be analyzing my blood this week. But tonight I tried to even it out. I BBQ pork chops with BBQ sauce and also BBQ fresh zuk's in herbs. Sadly that was followed up with Dairy Queen Hot Fudge Sundae minus the whip cream and nuts and cherry lol.

I seriously thought about driving over to my favorite state park today but it's closed:mad::mad::mad: I was going to drop the boy's at my MIL's and get them back Wednesday morning. Stupid decision to close during the busiest period. Nuff said

I tried to refrain from this one, but just couldn't. Seeing your governor basking in the sun on a sandy beach, with his family--the ONLY ones there . . . on the 4th of July MAJOR weekend . . . :jawdrop:  :jawdrop:  Oh my . . .

Just thinking this as well -- has he never heard of the expression: What's good for the goose is good for the gander?

@MinnieM123 I'm glad you had fun but how come you're back so early on your extra day off?

Oh, didn't you know? I have the attention span of a 5-year-old! :hilarious: Seriously, I'll go to places for a few hours and take it all in--and then I want to split. I can only look through cute little shops for so long, knowing that most of the stuff is not what I normally buy, and the rest is overpriced. So that cuts down my interest. But, I really had a good time overall.

It was also hot yesterday under the sun (even though it was a gorgeous day). So after sightseeing along the seaport area, browsing in shops and getting lunch, I was ready to leave. Also, the trains out of Rockport were only every 2 hours. As it was, between the buses and two train connections (each way) yesterday, I left home to walk to the bus at 7:00 AM, and by the time I got home, it was around 3:00 PM.

My tenant/neighbor is my age, and today she found out that she has developed diabetes. It runs in her family. She seemed quite calm about the diagnosis. I'd be a nervous wreck. I know that she has a really good doctor, and she will bend over backwards to do everything that he tells her. I wondered though when she said he immediately upped her thyroid medicine. Wondering if that was just the result of a recent blood test, or it went along somehow with the diabetes diagnosis. We have some similar issues. Hypothyroidism, and hypertension. I guess most 70 year people are on some kind of medication.

You're probably right--many people (of all ages, actually) do have to take various medications. But I always go back in my mind to quality of life, and if the meds help people live healthier lives, that's a very good thing. Years ago, I had a medical condition that required me to take meds for about 3 years. I felt so much better and eventually the doctor was able to reduce the dose down to nothing. I was cured, and grateful for the medical advances that got me to that point.
