Dear god, I hope this does not means they quit because Disney pushed for a Magic Kingdom v2 project (aka gutting space ship one, removing illuminations for a "more cost saving show") between other things..

Siemens National Convention is currently on going and announced to attendees
Siemens in a 12 year sponsorship was to replace one monorail in return for the Siemens name being on monorail. Disney said No to name on new monorail. They announced further we are out of there. Discouraged future conventions being booked at WDW. Done.

Mr Ferret 75

Thank you sir. You were an inspiration.

So Siemens had a toys and pram moment

This is a fight we're still fighting in our generation of veterans. The "broken veteran" image is making it harder for us to find good jobs. My husband was asked if he killed anyone and if that messed him up mentally in a job interview. In one of my job interviews I was told that they were nervous about hiring a veteran because we all have PTSD and she didn't need me hitting people or screaming all the time at the office. And if you watch the news, every story about someone killing someone else seems to be drawn back and tied to PTSD or military service, even when the person in question didn't even complete basic training.

Yes, we've mostly all experienced things well outside the realm of civilian experience. But this image of the "broken" or "dysfunctional" veteran harms us.

Also @Goofyernmost Thank you for your service :inlove:

As someone who works with a lot of veterans, a veteran is no more broken then a regular person.

Our little car is also at the mechanic. This will be a costly repair--unless they can't figure it out. They had to bring in their electrical specialist. I don't have a good feeling about this.

I had my AC fixed....well Freon put in which who knows if it will last (if there is a leak) but the AC/Heat motor is weird....won't go on unless you put the motor on really high so that would have cost me $500...I declined.

Google blower motor resistor. That's how you get the slower speeds. The resistor coils rot and open circuit, so pretty soon all you have left is the high speed (it doesn't use any of the coils). They are usually fairly easy to replace....

My husband's birthday is on Saturday so I let my 2 year old plan what we'd do for his birthday. I've been asking her "what should we do for papa's birthday?" for the past month and a half. So far we will be:

- having minnie mouse pancakes for breakfast
- seeing the birthday elephants at the zoo and feeding the giraffes (although the forecast calls for thunderstorms so we might have to make a plan B)
- making him blue cake with white ice cream
- go to the toy store and let him pick out any toy he wants

Can I come to the festivities too? I like everything she suggested. :joyfull: She has a gift for event planning!!!

The problem I ran into was that the module initially wouldn't let me use 4 wheel drive. However the module also reads the ignition key chip to allow the car to start, so if I replaced the module myself I would have ended up having it towed to the dealer to have them flash it, because I wouldn't have been able to start it. They really put the do-it-yourselfers over a barrel!!! :(

Exactly. This sounds familiar--that's what the online vendor told him about the ECM. He could put it in himself, but the car would not go anywhere. Has to be flashed by the dealer. That's interesting about what you said about the ignition key chip though.

The dealer's shop (which is large) has a ton of cars to work on, so they're not exactly speedy with anything. And quite frankly, I don't think they care. They're not hurting for business that's for sure. Not certain what we're going to do yet.

Over all, whether on or off site, that is the way to be, in my opinion. Time in the parks to me is absolutely no different on or off, meals are more flexible, and freedom to come an go always seemed simpler to me, but, like I said that is just me. I do things now out of necessity, like FP, and the occasional sit down reservation, but, mostly use counter service when I don't want to leave and outside establishments when I want or need a break from the parks. The later is at least once a day. After four days at WDW I am ready to go to a hardware store and see if I can find a huge mouse trap. Yes, I get sick of the Mouse. Blasphemy, perhaps... but, it might be that I have a limited attention span. :D

That's the nice thing about a WDW vacation. There are many ways to do it. You've found your niche, and I've also found mine. My usual stay is about 3-4 nights as well.

My dogs, back in the day liked Milk Bones....so did my sister she would eat one in the back seat of the car.:hungover::hungover::hungover:

Ha ha ha!! Years ago, one of my brothers actually thought that Liv-a Snaps were quite tasty--he'd pop a couple in his mouth, right out of the box! :p

Ugh . . .:banghead:

Their employees learned that today. Disney has a different business model now, they answer to their board and stockholders first. Disney wants sponsors big time ones like Siemens but in return for their long term financial commitment they don't want to give back at all. These sponsors have boards and stockholders too, it can't remain a lopsided venture. The sponsors one at a time are leaving and they are not replacing them at the rate they have lost them. You'd think they'd see the pattern?

Me it would have been so cool to look at a new state of the art monorail circling SSE. Maybe Disney will just cough up the money to replace it themselves. hahahaha

My silly cat, who has IBS, has been on a diet of pumpkin mixed in with wet food for her dinner. Well, while I was on vacation, she refused to eat the wet food out of spite for me going away. Guess who now is having problems with her IBS?

Called the vet and prescription food is evidently the next step. Ugh!

Hoping that when we get the new cat, they'll make friends so maybe she'll be a bit less spiteful about when I'm not there.
