Sometimes things are like depositing money in a bank. You don't use it right then, but, later on you take it out and use it when it has earned interest. The same goes with children. They are a ton of work, worry and time. They disrupt every effort that one personally has to just be selfish and do only for ourselves. However, when the mad rush of life starts and continues to slow down, you don't remember, smile and pat yourself on the back because you drove home from work and unwound. You process all those years of non-stop and smile and think... wow, I did all that! I have humans on this planet that are half my DNA and they are sometimes like me and, most of the time, like themselves. That is payback time and no matter how much effort was put in during those difficult years, nothing will ever replace those feelings and memories.

I have my children close by, but, I cannot describe just how lonely I feel sometimes. I wish I were young again and be doing it all over. No matter how much I complained about it back then, I would gladly do it again and again and again. Looking back, I was never happier or felt more needed then I was during that time.

I get the lonely. I see it with my Mom now that my Dad has past. My kids are grown and like I said I wouldn't trade it for the world. But No I don't want to do those child rearing ages again. My kids and I are very close, I have zero regrets. Still I keenly remember the sleepless nights and still having to go to work in the morning. You really have to want to devote your life to your DNA footprints to choose to have kids and it isn't for everyone. My DS is my Champion-always has my back, my DD and I have a bond, joined at the hip and are bestest friends as an adults. But if you get pressured into doing what I chose to do it doesn't always turn out so pretty. That was my point.

We got out of work an hour early Friday so it only took me an hour to get home. Could have been a lot worse. Local TV station said it was a 20 minutes wait during rush hour that day, I call BS and someone paid them off to say that.

There is another way I could go but that way took me the same amount of time to get home because of an accident but I got to Providence before 5 so that was good. Here's something you don't hear everyday, Fall River was good for something.

“If you have to be somewhere, give yourself extra time,” said Eric Offenberg, the RITBA’s director of engineering. “We’re anticipating 20-minute delays if you’re going over in rush hour.” -----Try an hour it took me to go a mile.

I have a long fuse for most stuff. An hour for a mile, I'd be insane.

A CM gave us the tip a bunch of years ago on the complimentary cups. We figured we spent possible $30-50 on water for over a week for all of us because no one wanted to share. And dh and I would never share with the kids. (backwash ) We purchased only 1 bottle on this past trip. :)

And why we have 2 cases of water delivered to our room at the start of our last long trip. Two 36 bottle cases and no shipping $12. Done

We have never ever shared beverages, silverware etc. Taboo in our household. Have I ever mentioned I am a germaphobic? I raised two hand washing, no sharing offspring that have been formally entered into my germaphobic club. :cyclops:

I found that the water in the fountains wasn't cold. There were only one or two that were cold enough.

Nope, they do not want to encourage drinking from fountains.

I'm one of those people that has a thing about water that isn't filtered and I tried but I can't do Disney drinking fountains. The rooms faucets are filtered. When we moved to our little Hamlet I spent tons of money trying to fix the taste of our well water too. Never worked. Even my coffee tasted funky so I bought bottled water to drink and cook with and of course my coffee.

I know everyone's taste buds are different and I just couldn't get accustomed to their fountains even masking with the powder flavors. Over the past couple years we have found Disney has put some water vats around the resorts and parks. I swear there should be a thread for where they are spotted. Example our POR lobby had one, never did before and SciFi at Studios had one as you walked in the door. But having cases delivered to the room for $12 for 2 worked perfect for us.

I was like 'why would you go in a fountain for water" Then I remembered that's what people call them.

Hmpf. I'm in that window of either or. I believe I equally change out drinking and water fountain. Never have gone to Bubbler though in the best parks along with some of the older ones in Chicago do indeed bubble. Bad side is they turn them on in the spring and shut them down late fall. They run continuously.

Mixed like. ;)

That last part is yet another example of Disney P&R complicating things in the way of making them simpler...if it ain't broke, don't fix it, ya' dimwits...!
.

Actually the lockers work very well. Guests seem to have issues with them the first time they use them just like they had issues with the FP+ kiosks the first time(s) they encountered them. The old way wasn't broke but now you don't have to stand in a line to purchase a key and at the end of the day you don't have to stand in a line to return a key. It is one stop shopping kinda thing.

The thing I didn't care for with the lockers is they were promoted at the 'same' price. True and False as you pay the same amount to purchase the key but don't receive a credit back for returning the key so in reality it was a huge price increase.

Went out to lunch today and remembered to take pics! :) We didn't go anywhere special. Just Chili's, but I remembered that a few weeks ago I mentioned we went and I said that I had the best black bean burger ever. We ordered for the table buffalo cauliflower and I got the black bean burger. Both were super yummy. :hungry: I want the recipe for both, but I would bake the cauliflower in my house. I know, defeatest but healthier. ;)
View attachment 208283 View attachment 208285 I wish I knew what they did to get such acrust on the burger. The texture was amazing.
My guess is it's rubbed with a bit of oil and baked before going on the grill or pan fried. Just a guess. Also letting veggie burgers cool in the fridge before cooking helps improve the texture:joyfull:
