Went out to lunch today and remembered to take pics! :) We didn't go anywhere special. Just Chili's, but I remembered that a few weeks ago I mentioned we went and I said that I had the best black bean burger ever. We ordered for the table buffalo cauliflower and I got the black bean burger. Both were super yummy. :hungry: I want the recipe for both, but I would bake the cauliflower in my house. I know, defeatest but healthier. ;)
IMG_1676.JPG IMG_1677.JPG I wish I knew what they did to get such acrust on the burger. The texture was amazing.

I found that the water in the fountains wasn't cold. There were only one or two that were cold enough.

I was like 'why would you go in a fountain for water" Then I remembered that's what people call them.

This is just a heads up to everyone -- I could not believe the amount of road work going on in and around the roads of WDW and beyond. Never seen anything like this before. Giant trucks moving mountains of dirt, pavers, and those orange and white cones blocking off lanes, etc. Thank God I take Disney buses and/or taxis, etc.

If you drive down there, be prepared for some quick changes in the road reconfigurations. It's a mess.

Yes, just another reason why we will never rent a car down there (and I've already made the point about us flying 6 hrs. both ways vs. driving 44 hrs. both ways).
Even though it's not perfect, staying on property and Disney transportation has always been fine by us...we're on vacation, someone else can do the driving...!!!!!!! :joyfull: :D :) ;)

I recall reading recently (maybe in the General forum, or in N&R) that there was going to be a change in bus service to Blizzard Beach.

So, the other morning when I took the Blizzard Beach bus from my hotel, it only went to Animal Kingdom. The bus driver told us to go to a different loading area at AK, where we would get the Blizzard Beach bus. Well, we all went to the other loading area, and there was a large group of people also waiting. One bus finally came in and we were all jammed in there, for the ride up to BB.

On the way back, it was the same thing--everyone jams into a bus for AK, and at AK, you go find your hotel bus queue and wait again.

Um . . . this is not what guests want . . .

Good grief! Woof!
Again, who comes up with this carp, and how the heck does it even get approved...?!?!?!

44 hours???? Is that how far it is from Austin? 22 hours? That is rough. Makes our 13-14 hour drive seem real easy.:D

I'm genuinely curious, what magical route are you taking which makes it 14 hours? It takes us around 18 if we drive, and we're further south than you. Hence why we don't drive.
It may not be the route but how fast dh drives. ;) But seriously we live 953 miles away. So divide that by 70 which is probably average speed and you get 13.5:). We take 81 south which is just a few miles from our house. We are only 16 miles from MD. Then we either take 81 straight to 77 in NC and cut over to 95 or take 81 S to 70 and take 495 on the west side of DC to 95. We try to avoid rush hour times. Last year we did an overnight drive which was rough and probably won't do that again. We left around 4 in the afternoon and were at a Perkins near Winter Haven I think by 6 am.

Roughly, yes. We've never actually driven it, but when I've googled it before, it was usually in the neighborhood of 20+ hours straight through. I threw in a coupla' extra hours for stops and changing drivers. And, that doesn't include hotel stays if we didn't drive straight through. We've only ever been able to vacation at WDW for a week, so flying is a no-brainier for us.
Plus, we like gettin' on a plane, havin' a coupla' drinks (me mostly-I love flying, but, I also like drinkin' a bit ;)) , chillin', and touchin' down at MCO in about 3 hours.
As far away as we are, the airport stuff is more than worth it to us. :)

I use water fountain and drinking fountain interchangeably. Probably water fountain more. I will not call it a bubbler, even though I live in Wisconsin I had never heard that term until a college English class and we were discussing colloquialisms. I do not live in the shaded part of Wisconsin though, so maybe that is wahy.

Ah. We take 95 pretty much the whole way down. Must be further east than you. 81 is nowhere near us 83 is, but not 81. And 83 ends in Baltimore, so that doesn't help.
