Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
I've got an uncle who's even more fun.

When the Ravens beat the Patriots in 2012, he took a screenshot of Tom Brady's face after the game. He calls it "Definitive proof that Tom Brady is a crybaby."

EDIT: Forgot the best part of that story. After he took the screenshot, he made it his wallpaper.

This is the same uncle that has a version of Star Wars Episode 1 with Jar Jar Binks completely edited out and who gave me Star Wars trading cards as a graduation gift.

Funny. Wish I could like the post again for the edit!

I hope she can get a proper schedule fixed by her.

I work from home I have to tell you that my job sometimes can be stressful due of the nature of the hours working.

They have revised her schedule yet again. It seems never ending and not for the positive. Come March it appears it will be something like 12-9pm and she isn't an evening person. But she knows she is blessed to get this position being right out of college and for a University. The pay is better than any Jr. High School or High School could dream to start at and the benefits are awesome. The text read tonight that their safety was the most important factor and to work from home and be well. Don't hear stuff like that from most employers especially in education. She gets overtime for anything over 40 hours so that is all well.

What is killing the young thing is job #2 on top of job #1 career job. She loves Job #2 and isn't willing to let it go. Maybe after one more summer. She as my DS did loves the outdoor waterpark she manages during the summer. She is working 7 days a week, some days between the two jobs 13-14 hour days. That is a lot. She unlike my DS that can wing a couple hours sleep and function my DD has always required 8+ hours sleep.

Newsbuzzdaily is reporting that Bobbi Kristina has passed away. (No confirmation on TMZ yet, so who knows?)

So sad. What a tragedy.

@MinnieM123 I have had two of these 12 cup cuisinart 12 cups in a row. Each lasted around 10 years.

Mine both came from Sam's Club but they are in good department stores and Crate & Barrel.

TEN years??!!! :jawdrop: :cat: I have also had two of those exact models over the past 2 1/2 years or so. The first one lasted 1 1/2 years. The 2nd one lasted exactly one year, and it was the reason why (2 weeks ago) I had to go buy a new coffee maker. So I also have not had stellar experiences with that particular Cuisinart model, or the newer "extreme" model either. Although I love how Cuisinart makes the coffee, I'm just at the point now where I don't want to deal with that brand anymore. Fingers crossed that yours lasts a good long time. (Maybe they've been sending all the lemons to my area . . . :banghead: )

I definitely could have done without that beach thing at half time.

The only part of any Super Bowl I watch is the halftime show. I saw it last night, and I thought it was really fun and creative. (Note: The halftime show on the Puppy Bowl was also very good with Katty Furry, even though the stage effects and lighting weren't quite as exciting as Katy Perry's! show) ;) :joyfull:

Our storm predictions just kept getting worse. 5-12" then 18" And the length of the storm kept getting extended.
I was hoping for hype but no, it is even worse than predicted and the winds just keep blowing back whatever is shoveled. The snowblower is just making it airborne. Sucidoodles.

Yup, called into work at 5:00 AM today, and left a message for one of my bosses that I would not be in. (All we had to do was leave a message on the voicemail if we weren't coming in.) Medical personnel are either sleeping on air mattresses & cots in various locations in the hospital, or are staying overnight in close-by hotels during this. Although we won't have as much snow as the big storm last week, my area is still scheduled to get between 12-15 inches. That, in itself, is a lot, but the issue now all over MA is that it's on top of the 25 inches-33 inches (depending upon the area) and the roads were just starting to get a little better as of yesterday, but this will set things back further. All schools are closed, too, and some had only opened up last Friday.

I find freezing rain or ice so much worse than snow.

That is about the only way you are different than my DD. She was certainly a 9am class person. Almost always done by 2pm. I'm up, DH snoring. DD been asleep for several hours already.

She got a text message asking her to go into job #2 early 11 vs 1 so the morning shift manager didn't have to come in, delayed opening of the Rec Center 'till noon, then open 'till 6pm. DH drove her, the 4x drive thing. At 130 they decided to close at 3pm after the kids Bday party scheduled that actually came off. Patrons were angry 1 of the 3 pools were closed because some lifeguards could not get there. :cautious: Swim lessons were cancelled, they took that out on my DD as they could get there why couldn't the teens that teach couldn't. People are crazy. There was a second party scheduled and when my DD offered free rescheduling they thanked her so there are sound mind folk still in existence. She was so tired from the dumb that she went to sleep as the fight ended from the Super Bowl. A good laugh is all she needed.

Safety first, and if some of those people were inconvenienced because one of the pools was closed, then too bad. Does the Rec Center have any sort of email notification that they could send out immediately, if the center was closing due to storm conditions? That might be helpful in the future if they could implement something like that. Dealing with the public is always a challenge; all of my jobs have involved dealing with the public, some more than others.

Whoever made that call needs to put a gun in their mouth, and pull the friggin' trigger right now.
I don't believe what I just saw.

Oh my, glad I didn't watch the Super Bowl; that was a lethal comment you made. :jawdrop:

The worst comment I could think of with regard to the Puppy Bowl, (which I watched instead), is that if one of the puppies messed up one of the plays, I might say, "No kibbles for you, you mangey mutt!" :joyfull:

Seahawks are sore losers that's why. Yes, i live 30 minutes from Gillette but I'm not Patriots fan. Heck, my uncle is a Browns fan. I feel sorry for him. Not even a football fan but I had to "socialize". Though with alcohol, the game was survivable.

I thought the commercials where dumb. And the movies looked horrible. The only commercial I remember was the Bud one. Does it entice me to drink Budweiser? Hell no!

PS - If you take something from a hot room into the freezing cold.....what does it do? Deflate! But seriously, any other team could have done the same thing without the refs notice.

PSS - Apparently, Butler from the Patriots is going to Disneyland. Which is funny because Butler is a hospital over here. Crazy people hospital.

Oh Boy though. In a heartbeat I'd have bought yet another but if their quality has tanked??? My first one the round, turning on off button broke. It was harder and harder to get it to turn on and then it didn't. The only difference between #1 and #2 was they replaced the round turny thing to an generic on off light switch type on off button. The only thing I did do immediately is take that sponge thing out of the water dispenser.
