Yah, I saw a few of the weather "models" on the news. I like how they always have two to three "tracks" they use--that way, they can save face if they're wrong. ;) They can just say, "Oh yah, it was the track 2 version of the storm, instead of 1 or 3." They think that instills some confidence in their forecasting abilities, for the viewing public. :p Heaven forbid they just spit out what they really think will happen, and let the chips fall--just like the rest of us who have jobs and have to be accountable?! :banghead:
I know! I told my kids if they ever want a job where they can constantly be wrong and not get fired, become a meteorologist. ;)

Surprisingly, in spite of bad press, down here, at least, they are pretty accurate. During a 24 hour period they are right on usually both with temperature and forecasting rain or snow events. If they say the day before that by 10am the temperature will be 55 degrees, you can count on it. If they say that rain will start at 1pm, have your umbrella with you and if they say it will stop by 3pm, you can put it away. I have been absolutely amazed by how precise they have become. Of course certain things can alter that, but, it doesn't happen often.

We don't always get correct forecasting here. One day 2 weeks ago it was supposed to be a high of 61. It said that the day before. That never came to fruition. It naver got higher than 49.

I've had it! It's March and some things like the weather are just not funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tonight's dinner groundhog risotto with asparagus and pinot noir:D
Just to be serious for a moment, I am really amazed by the human memory lapses this time of year. March has always, at least in Vermont, been the worst month of the year for nasty, snowy cold weather. I made many trips down south in February with no problems weather wise at all, however, almost every time I went south in March I ran into one (and sometimes two) major traffic stopping storms. So many people from way up north get all excited about how winter was pretty good this year, warmer weather and not much snow and it is always said before March arrived. It is hardly ever said after!

Curious--is the lounge at the Brown Derby a QS? Is it outdoors? I'm trying to recall what I read about that last year. Also wondering if the food is more on the idea of small plates or bar (appetizer) foods?

The Brown Derby lounge is outside some table have umbrellas. I guess the menu is more small plates, I don't believe you can order off the BD"s regular menu, however I remember they have a small version of the Cobb salad on the menu. Hubs and I have shared the sliders and the charchutterie (I know I spelled that wrong). Sharing the sliders was a mistake though, they were just too delicious to share. When I went on my solo trip last year I had the sliders all to myself. :hungry::inlove: The sliders are two different types, one with Waygu beef with cheese and bacon and a sauce of some sort and the other slider is duck confit with coleslaw. I usually don't like coleslaw but it is excellent on the duck slider.

You are right. I remember way back when in March and also April we got our worst storms. I remember one in April of maybe 1983 where we got 2 feet of snow.

Oy. I was thinking of you and wondered if you were going to be held in Florida. My DD co-worker didn't come to work today. Her flight was cancelled out Cali to Ohare.

I was just outside. The wind is strong enough to start to push me off my feet. Kinda April May weather we are having.
Our weather has been very windy, around 50 mph. Hubby said he could hardly make it to the mail box. I've been waiting for the smoke to clear, the forest fire is still going and spreading the smoke around.
