Thats me this entire weekend. Did I mentioned that my grandmah fell again at late night and then almost fell in the afternoon? she is now definitively a child. She just forgets everything and tries to take the wheelchair by herself..and she ends always in the floor. At least she hasnt hurt herself x_x

So sorry to hear about your grandmother. I hope she stays safe.

I see there was some talk about the Magic Kingdom's table service. I haven't tried all the table service there, but I must say our meal at Skipper's Canteen last June was one of the best meals we had on our 2 weeks there. We are planning on eating there again this coming June I hope it is still just as good.

@Gabe1 I too also enjoy the lounge at the Brown Derby. I was really hoping to relax and snack there again last weekend but the timing never worked out for us. I think their sliders are so tasty!

I think Skipper Canteen has a lot of potential, but they need to rework their spices in their dishes. I think they also need to, along with their more "adventurous" cuisine, offer more typical dishes, maybe some decent burgers, steak, that sort of thing. Last time, though, it was just not good. Service was excellent, though. Love BOG, though. French onion soup is good there, though I think Cafe Orleans wins on the french onion soup front.

I have a special place in my heart for both PotC and IaSW, as they were some of the first attractions I vividly remember riding back on my first visit to DL in '68. My mother always used to sing the IaSW song to us kinda' silly-like when we were little to cheer us up...it usually worked... :cautious:
I also vividly remember those 2 extinct DL attractions I've mentioned before from that first trip...Mine Train Thru Natures Wonderland, and Adventure Thru Inner Space. I was in awe.
First rode HM at DL in '70. Simply amazing!!!!! :joyfull:
Bottom line, PotC and HM are probably tied for first place with me, when it comes to current attractions...! :)
DL's PofTC might be my favorite thing ever (besides Star Wars, that is). Have no idea why WDW's is so inferior.

I find it funny that they never sealed the shaft from the Mine Train, so there was a random shaft just sitting there. :joyfull:

Yesterday we went from 55 to 32 in 2 hours:eek: The carp didn't start sticking to the roads right away. The worst is all that was called for was a trace to an inch nobody was prepared:mad::mad::mad::mad:
Yea, they are calling for snow down here on Sunday. That is completely unacceptable. It has been in the upper 70 for almost two weeks now. Snow is inconceivable and it means what I think it means. I know that it is hard up north. Heavens I lived in it for 63 years, but, it is very rude of you northerners to send it down south just because you are in a "misery loves company mode". I am not amused!;)

Very pretty! Looks like that here, too. We didn't get much (maybe an inch yesterday). Waiting for the bigger storm Tuesday night, though!
We actually ended up getting lucky. Only maybe 2 inches? I think it was closer to 1. The roads melted quickly. The winds on the other hand were kind of vicious and we ended up getting a few squalls in the afternoon where it looked like a blizzard for 5 minutes and then the sun came out. I am hoping that the storm for Tuesday fizzles. Weather people now have a snowflake in for Wednesday also.:bawling::bawling: The temps they have too belong in January. We haven't had temps that cold this winter, or at least I don't remember. I mean for heavens sake, the daffodils were starting to come up and some of the trees were starting to come out of hibernation.

And, when we were back on the multi lane areas, we would always do the pull your arm down thing to truck drivers as we either passed them, or they passed us, to get them to honk their horns...they did it every time when they saw us...so much joy for us out of such a simple gesture...!!!!! :joyfull: ;)
And, yes, we also had a CB radio...
"10-4, good buddy...!!!" :joyfull:
Goooooood memories...!!!!!

OMG -- you are too funny!!! I can just see you doing that -- big fun for kids! :hilarious:

We DO have part-time, but its very expensive.. they charge by hour.

Home health care can be pricey. I'm sorry to hear that she's not doing well. Hope you don't have to get to the point where she may need to eventually go into a nursing home. Sometimes, though, it is for the safety of the loved one, when she cannot properly make decisions for herself, and experiences multiple falls. My family had to deal with this somewhat similar type of situation some years ago, in the case of my own mother. It was a very, very tough decision for us, but necessary for her own safety.

Curious--is the lounge at the Brown Derby a QS? Is it outdoors? I'm trying to recall what I read about that last year. Also wondering if the food is more on the idea of small plates or bar (appetizer) foods?

I love how different people such as you and @ajrwdwgirl can have such different opinions about a restaurant. ;)

Never been to S C, but I think they're purposely trying to limit the more traditional fare, in favor of a more niche menu with the adventurous cuisine. (I like that approach, actually, as I like different experiences.) I feel bad for the chefs who are trying to create unique menus, but they also have to face the reality that their "market" is comprised of families in a theme park. Must be really difficult for them to try and find a balance.
