We didn't have the day off from school though, had to call in sick. I have been sleeping and working on my photobook and catching up on some show. At least I don't feel guilty for not taking Kapono for a walk, it is still raining here. Hubs is supposed to be bringing something home for dinner..

Yea, we didn't have off work either, but, on the bright side, my commutes to and from the office were a breeze compared to the norm. :)

But, isn't it Presidents Day in your state? It is here in MA, and most businesses (except for retail, restaurants and some others) are closed for the holiday. Banks are closed, as is the post office, state, city and federal offices.

It was Presidents Day here, too. We just don't have certain holidays off.
If I remember correctly, ours are New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independance Day, Labor Day, 2 days for Thanksgiving, and 2 days for Christmas (if Christmas falls on a Sat. we get the Thurs. and Fri. before off, if it falls in a Sun. we get the following Mon. and Tues. off). :)

to us and sold the lovely green blobs to Canada or other countries since 80% of blobs we eat here come from Michoacan.
They are actually doing that. Not sure If I said before. But since big packages of Avocado were stopped and sent back by US authorities.. they decided to ship to Japan and Europe now. It was in the news. They are thinking in replacing most of the trade of corn to other countries too.

See corn we can sell elsewhere and also at other times of the year get it from other places. Avocado crops just are a drop in the bucket to what we consume. Even in areas of Cali they discontinued growing 'cause of that long lasting drought. We are a nation that is addicted to that pretty green smear.

And I missed that news story. Score one Japan! If this really continues I can see some revenue dips in our restaurants. Oy. Sadness.

Well, dunno.. the news also said that the Mexican market buys nearly 2.4 billion a year of corn (to feed cattle).
So unsure if this can affect US producers. Mexican authorities said they might be switching it for Argentinean and Brazilian corn.
Still on plans.. who knows what happens. Its a dumb tug-of-war right now.

The only time I had off all those State and Federal Holidays was all those years I worked for that German firm. Any governmental holiday they gave it to us off. When I left I think I had 13 holidays, 4 weeks vacation, 10 personal days and 12 sick days plus my Birthday off. Though over the pond office certainly had better maternity leave than I was ever afforded.

Yeah...I pay little attention to all the blah blah blah. I view both yours and mine as ding and dong. My concerns are those yummy green blobs and quality tequila. :hungry:
