I'm right there with you. All I could get last week were the big ones for guacamole There's just not the same

The big ones are supposedly better for taquitos. Not for guacamole.
And yeah the flavor is definitively different!
My uncle used to bite the skin to peel the bigger ones, then bite them directly like an apple XD

Not bad for anywhere, considering the level of service. The guacamole person comes your our table and made a custom batch with whatever you want in it.

NOW.. thats a proper restaurant! Pre-made guacamole is usually diluted in either milk or cream with lemon. Changing the taste.
Fresh Guacamole is the way to go!

That was at Uncle Julio's on Friday night too. He had a little butcher block cart that he pushed to your table and he went at it just like a hibachi chef before you. Our dude was not overly interactive though so it was a tad bit awkward but so dang good. Slurp.

Self confession, I have zip education in the department of the lineage of an avocado.

All I know is I'll be sad if suddenly I have to pay an additional 20% for the green goodies because someone slaps a 20% export tariff on each of their glorious green bodies. But it would be even worse If Michoacan said *psft* to us and sold the lovely green blobs to Canada or other countries since 80% of blobs we eat here come from Michoacan.

It could be like the historic gas shortages only in green form. How could the SuperBowl and World Series continue?

You just describe ME eating a tomato! In the summer when I am harvesting from my garden I will often pick one, rinse it with the garden hose and chomp right into Big Red.
