So, here's something amusing about Valentine's Day, yesterday. There's 9 people that are in my office area. It's a fun crowd. Hence, last Sunday when I was in Walgreens, I bought these little boxes (about the size of a pack of cards) of heart shaped sweet tarts, with the usual Valentine's "sayings" on them. They were on sale and I think I only paid about 60 cents for each one. Got enough for the office group.

Yesterday, I went to everyone's desk and gave them a box and wished them Happy Valentine's Day. They all loved it! :joyfull: Many of them shared childhood stories about valentines in school, and giving out candy, etc. They were gabbing about this all day. Some were comparing the sayings on their candy with others--some had a swap going on! HA! :p

What made this particularly funny was that some of these people are making three-figure salaries, and they acted like they were given a Rolex or something. I mean, I only paid 60 cents apiece for these things! :hilarious:

Sometimes it is just the little stuff that can make someone's day. I think it is wonderful that you got a little something for everyone, you are very kind to everyone! :)

Hello, All it has been a stressful month. I got the flu, and it lasted 30 days. I had another stroke and cannot get my words in order. I can type a little, but my spoken words just won't come out of my mouth. I'm slowly getting a little better. I hope everyone is doing well. I will be back on again tomorrow. Take care of all of you. :inlove::inlove::inlove:

A so good to hear from you "like"...!
Oh dear, Bets. So very sorry to hear of your illness. We were all so very concerned about you and missed you very much.
Sincerest prayers for a full recovery in short order.
In the meantime, please take it easy, and be careful not to overdo it. You take care, too!
Again, sooooo good to hear from you, Bets...!!!!! :)

Happy you guys had a nice day.

Very pretty building. Nicely done. Where you have always had that love of history, soak it up, me I have a low tolerance for it and that is shading me nicely. I did the Field Museum here with my family-the weather caboshed my Mothers Day Plans last year so we went for it. Dear Lord we were all on the same page. Now, put me at the Shedd Aquarium within spitting distance of the Field or farther up the road at The Chicago Science and Industry I'm in my glory. Boy I love that place.

Thanks, Gabe! :)

And, I'm just as good with aquariums, natural history museums, science and industry, etc. I love all of that stuff!
I, plain and simply, just love to learn...! :)

A great day for you. :geek:

And your DD looks lovely as always. :inlove: Doesn't your DS also lean towards loving history too?

Thanks again...all 3 are "lovely" kiddos...! ;)
Yes he does. But, again, he also loves science, tech, natural history, etc.
All 5 of us are pretty much that way.
I'm sure we could spend a few days at just the various Smithsonian Museums in DC, and be happy as clams...!!! :)

A sheltered life I lived. I never know what half of the spanish terms mean on the menu descriptions. Liked how yummy your sons sandwich and youngest dinner looked but I've gotta ask....what the heck it that brown black stuff plopped on some of those plates? While it might be yummy but presentation and color...well I've gotta ask.

But boy oh boy I'd love to eat that avocado. :hungry:

Hahaaa...!!! :hilarious:
They're simply refried black beans, as opposed to the typical refried pinto beans...and yes, they're darn tasty...!!! :hungry:
And yep, that avocado was darn deeeeelicious, too...!!! :hungry:

It is funny how that shakes out depending on whose thoughts of who is given what amenities. There is a sea of cubbies out on the main floor, they are really nice and high ones, really offices without a door or ceiling-various sizes though.

DS spent about 2 months in a cubbie before he was given an office. Now he has a bigger office with his promotion but I don't see a window in his office until he climbs up many more ranks. Most windows shine upon those in the Cubbies. I did offer to get him this decal for his larger wall.

Hahaaa...!
There was a time, way back in the day, when my pop worked for IBM, that a lot of the guys that worked in windowless interior offices/spaces, but, that had walls, would buy inexpensive windows to hang on those walls with appropriately sized tropical posters behind them...!!! :hilarious: :)

Yep. I equate pulling any attraction/ride out for a meet and greet and minus.
But then again I'm disappointed about all the pretty fountains Disney has reimagined into planters.

Yes, and this one is one of the most disappointing "reimagined fountains" in recent years...

WTH...?!?!?!?!?! o_O

It probably would have been less painful for a lot of us if they would have just immediately removed all traces of it, instead of leaving that sick "shadowy place" reminder of it's former self to torture us, and replace it with a Muppet-themed DVC kiosk. :bored:

Us too. We are talking of a trip to the Smithsonian's too. There are a few I'd love to see, some, well a few not so much. My DD also s a thing for Libraries. Started with the Big One in Cleveland and can't get enough of those mouth dropping ones. DS well if there is any Sports Hall of fames around...that kinda started to come together when Grandma was inducted into Cooperstown for being in 'a league of their own.' Funny what grabs kids when they are young.

I'm am naively holding out hope that it will be restored. Some 'ole rumor that the feeding water pipe came from the Streets of America area under construction and will have to be repiped. Could be. There is hope. Or they could just leave it to be a planter.
