I'm glad you seemed to have such a great holiday and managed to avoid dancing on tables but I would have loved some video of that. I'm evil that way:D Also congrats on the great review but that comes as no surprise because you're such a great writer:) BTW have you ever gone to Times square for NYE? It's fun and crazy but I haven't been since 9/11 and all the new security was added:(
Nooooo, Times Square for NewYears is not for me. They put you in these little pens and then you have to just stand there for like 8 hours or more, no bathroom, no drinks, nothing. Thumbs down for me. ;)

It seems all the fun was taken out of it:( We used to go into the city and do a bit of bar hopping in the area before going to our dinner reservation. Midnight celebration with dj about 11:45 then outside for the official ball drop then dancing til .............:joyfull: Fun times

One more trip down to the Social Security office, and my husband and I can finally be officially signed up for Medicare Part B. Even though he's officially still working we decided to finally make the switch to Medicare, rather than having his company's insurance. His regular insurance was always pretty good on everything but prescriptions. Hopefully now, our new plan will keep the costs down. Once we officially get B, we can switch to the Aetna plan that the agent discussed with us last week. That drug plan was so much better. The agent looked up our meds and the costs were a whole lot cheaper. If I had to figure this all out on my own, I'd be lost. The agent we used was recommended by a friend who uses it for her Medicare plan. I'll be glad when it all finally goes into effect.

Are you having a mini-vacay? A little jealous, as hubs and I were supposed to spend a night in downtown Chicago but had to come home since he was sick. I only got to go downtown with the in-laws. :cautious: We like staying at the Palmer House. Where do you typically stay?
Nicest hotel at best rate on MagMile. We were at the Hampton Inn which is right near Crate and barrel and Disney store. 3 blocks from Gharidelli.

Yes, we celebrate Christmas at our house, and I am in the tail end of removing all signs of it from our house. Today, I will concentrate on the kitchen where all my Christmas mugs need to be switched out with the normal ones that I packed up a month ago. Since our birds have multiplied to 8, we are moving the parakeets to my room in the back of the house, because their squawking has gotten too loud in the dining room where my husband works. They should like it back here, where I spend most of my time with my computer, and all my other hobbies. The window lets in some good light. However, I am a night owl, so putting them to sleep will be a much different time frame then what has happened so far. Spin and Marty have gotten quite big since we first brought them home. Still a bit timid, but definitely enjoying their life as bird mates/friends/buddies.
Congrats on your new birds.

Thanks. The Zebra's were fun. I'm not a photographer as we all know, the colors were so vivid and they really popped in person, same with the serpent. We are so fortunate to have 2 Zoo Light festivals here. Our hotel was only a couple blocks from Navy Pier where the fireworks are focused. A wonderful way to bring in the New Year. Though being on the 22nd floor...I'm not so good with heights.
I always ask for an upper floor in a hotel. I love looking outside. I'm glad you had a nice New Year.
