There have been multiple crashes in the Baltimore area this morning due to a winter storm that was less snow and more ice.

Saw some film of that on the national news this morning. Baltimore wasn't the only area, either. Some other states were also having issues. Up here, it was regular snow and no particular icing problems, thank goodness. The snow was pretty. I got out there and shoveled the front steps, etc. :)

Dog is in the doghouse, so to speak. Early this morning, I was taking a few items out of a Christmas storage box and put them on the floor in the livingroom, for just a minute while I went to the closet for a hook. (I have this small, old knitted wreath from my grandmother, that I put in my kitchen each Christmas.)

Well, don't you know that the DOG decided to grab the little knitted wreath off the floor and proceeds to run upstairs. Caught the varmint out of the corner of my eye and I bolted after him. But, there is a raised area from the back room to the kitchen. My foot caught underneath the raised area, and I went airborne and crashed down on the floor (my knees took most of the hit), and just missed smashing my face into the tile. Got up, limping. I called up to hubs upstairs to get the knitted wreath away from the thief!!! :banghead: Now I have two huge bruises on both knees, they're slightly swollen, and I pulled a muscle in my right leg and right foot. Dog is getting coal in his stocking for Christmas!

Oh my. Sympathy like.
Ouch, Minnie! Hope no major damage was done to your knees.

Oh no! What a stinker that boy is! I'm glad you didn't get hurt any worse than you did, although I'm sure you are a hurting unit now. How is the wreath?

Thank you, I'll survive, but my right leg is not doing well at the moment. The wreath survived the ordeal better than I did!! Luckily hubs got it away from Jack's big mouth in time for it to be saved. I wouldn't have minded if he grabbed a sock off the floor, but this little knitted wreath I've had for many years--a remembrance from my grandmother when she was alive. (She loved to knit and crochet.)

I saw that. The roads here are horrible today. My house looks like Cinderella Castle when they put on the fake ice. Except it's real. I haven't gone out to see my car yet, but it is likely a metal popsicle. Most people were smart and stayed inside.
Just glad to hear you were smart and stayed in! Our plan A today was to have enough left over food to hold us until I could get out tomorrow. The boys ate everything last night after I went to bed. Plan B I raided the freezer and made minestrone with smoked pork butt stock. I got a bit creative and the boys loved it.
