It's (insert string of very bad words) COLD. My hands and feet hurt!!!!!!!!!! I need a hot bath and a large glass of wine! My dh owes me big time! At least he has his schedule for next week and the week after and it can't be changed due to end of the year garbage.:) I'm not happy because he has four twelve hours next week and the week after but has 2, 4 day weekends in a row. I'm making a to do list for making me go outside:D I'll be nice but I want him to make me something with his Christmas present:)

Yeah well.... you know here, if your kid makes their hand into a pretend gun at school, it's enough to get them suspended. It's a pretty touchy subject for a lot of folks.
Which I find completely weird, considering how gun lovers are always having guns everywhere.. even fighting to keep them even if their "precious" died by a gunshot wound when they picked up an unprotected gun.

Still, fake guns... that look nothing like real guns.. aka fantasy guns.. o_o

I was one of those awful parents that actually purchase several of those pirate pistols from the Pirate Gift shop for my kid. Now those guns are props not sold to guests. Same thing in all the Disney Parks now. Have you seen some of these fake or not even close to resembling a weapon that kids get tossed out of school for here? It is that zero tolerance mentality, me I referred to the policy as zero brains on part of the administrators.

Really??? Baltimore 2nd Grader Suspended For Biting A Breakfast Pasty Into The Shape Of A Gun

A boy who threw an imaginary grenade at recess, another for having a firearm piece on his tiny lego person-suspended for the balance of the school year.

This one made me bang my head. The girl was not only expelled but couldn't be in car when siblings were dropped off or picked up from school as she was a threat to other students.

I'm looking to relax tomorrow, hubby is taking the car in for maintenance. I will try to sleep in....
DD went back to school today...I didn't want her to miss the reveal of the new school name, but she is still feeling off and her temp was up tonight, so she may end up staying home tomorrow. Though if that happens, we can't go to my nephew's birthday party because of my BIL's kidney problems. I hope you got to relax today!!

I'm going through the headaches and lack of sleep too. Tell her she is not alone....I hope she can adjust...it looks like the other girls are taking advantage of your daughter. I hope it get's better for her.
Oh they were definitely taking advantage, but the teacher worked it all out and they came through in the end. They each only did one section out of their 3, but they at least did SOMETHING. And all 4 of them stayed after school today to work on the presentation. But DD is still not feeling well, so maybe her immune system is weakened from the stress. She may end up sick yet. She seemed better last night, but she was pale and not her bubbly self today. Her temp was at 99.6 when she went to bed...so not really a fever, but not normal, either. We'll see how she is tomorrow.

I'm sorry you have to face illness with your DD, life gets in the way of plans. My prayers for you....and BIL kidney problems are nothing to mess around with. I hope BIL can find a solution...

I've stayed out of this whole bullying conversation as of late because it flat-out torques me off to no end.
But, I feel the need to chime in at this point. Also, I think I posted about this a long while back, as well...
At one point during youngest DDs junior year in high school, she was being bullied/harrassed by a group of fellow students. Females and males. I don't remember the details, but, I do remember this much.
It had been going on for quite a while, and she kept it a secret. Then, one night she came to us weeping. She showed me a text that one of these little punk bas***d boys had just sent her. All this was news to us, and she just couldn't take it anymore.
I was sooo PO'd my head was about to burst into flames after I read the text.
It took me a coupla' minutes to breath and calm down just a bit.
I asked DD for her phone. I then texted the little ****** back that this was now her father answering his text. I told him I knew who he was, I knew who his parents were, and I knew where he lived (and I did). I also told him to spread the word about same to the other little miscreants that, if I didn't already know same about them, I could find out, and if it ever happened again, the next place I would be was knockin' on his front flippin' door...if that didn't work, the police.
Plus, I let the little "f" know the texts were being saved as evidence.
She didn't have problem one from any of those little turds the rest of high school.
Yes, papa bears have been known to be a bit protective, too.
You go, papa bear!! Way to roar!
