Hang on to the coat if it works for you, because if you try to replace the same style (same company), you might not get exactly the same thing. About 9 years ago I had a long, down coat from Eddie Bauer. It was great. Then two years ago, I bought the same coat, but in a different color. Big mistake. They had cheaped out on the quality of the components (except for the down). I pulled a snap open and the thing ripped right out of the front of the coat. (There were some online comments from customers who also experienced the same thing.) The zipper was not finished off in the bottom seam, as nicely as the older model, etc. Even the material wasn't as strong as the previous one. That company is off my radar now--I'll never buy anything again from them.

(Oh, I didn't return it, because at the time, I needed a very warm coat--I was stuck. So I took it to a tailor to mend the snap area, and he said it was stupid that they didn't line the backing of the snap--the pulling would assure it ripping out of the coat. After that, I didn't use any of the snaps--just the zipper. I replaced just that one snap so that the front of the coat would look the same.
I'm not getting rid of it but I'm taking my time looking for a back up coat. It's hard finding something super warm, good quality and won't break the bank. I should wait until after the holidays and hit the end of season sales.

It's -8 here. :jawdrop: I hope you don't get too much snow, it's supposed to hit us tomorrow afternoon and continue through Saturday....
Wait is that with or without a windchill?? :cold:

It was more of an annoying dusting this morning. We're supposed to get 3-5 inches of snow and ice tomorrow night (that better not interrupt my Star Wars plans with my parents ), and a quarter inch of rain on Saturday... before it goes back to snow and the temperature drops out again.

I don't understand why we're getting January weather in Mid-December. :banghead:
