I had a bottle of Coke in the truck. Such pretty structures the frozen block of sugar made. Wonder if it would still be carbonated when it melted.

DD is home sick from school today. Well, not so much sick as just not feeling well. I think it's stress and she just needs a day off, so I kept her home. We made Tostadas and watched the movie Tini, which was on the Disney Channel here on Saturday and we recorded it. Nice relaxing day.

My Mom a high school teacher back in the day needed a break too every once in awhile. She called it a
Mental Health Day.

At least if it's 100, you can jump in a pool. On the rare ocassions when it gets to zero here, I can't seem to get warm even in the house.

I'm bundled. I still can't get the chill to go away.

One of my close friends and I got our fourth annual picture with Santa last night. We went to Bass Pro, and they even gave out free picture frames to go with the picture this year! I'm not sure if they're doing this at all locations, but it's definitely something to check out

Well you both grew up very nicely. What a great tradition. Santa though in that last picture...the eyes.

I feel the same, after watching my Mom and all of her sister's struggle with Alzhemier's, I'm glad Colorado passed the right to die law. You do have to go through a couple Dr.s but sometimes it's the right thing to do. Especially when people can't take care of themselves, and loose all dignity. The family suffers a lot when your own mother doesn't know who you are....Getting older is a challenge, I fell because I can't see well when night comes. I've decided to go to bed early and stay there. I know we try to adjust. Do take your mobility problems seriously. I am asked every 6 month's at the doctor, If I have fallen. This time, I wonder what they are looking for.

Do you have a macular issue with your eyes. My Mom gets shots in the eye when fluid builds behind. Oy.

I saw you are in the deep freeze. My sympathy. We will be 61 tomorrow, and the high of 3 Saturday.....good grief, we have had temps ...up and down in the past, but not this extreme for so long.....

I am jealous. They say 6 degree high here tomorrow.

I love cheese, but sadly I can no longer eat it....but, I can dream....

Cheese is generally my good night snack. Somedays it is the second cheese snack of the day. Love cheese.

Not a fan of chocolate, and can't eat pecans, sadly.

I'm holding out hope for some of these allergies. They seem to be making some new headway with the research.
Before it was treating the reactions now it is more research and success in thwarting the allergy. I'd love for my kid to taste some of those things she can't once again.

I don't think a drink or even two a day will hurt. For me, that equal's two ounces. I usually have a little after lunch, and a little after dinner.....It's a gastric....when you get to my age ; you will understand!

Well that is interesting. Does the tequila kinda neutralize all that....? If so, I'm going start slipping some into my
Mom's diet Pepsi.

I hope not! I had one relative who liked his daily boiler maker and never had any problems but he only made it into his early 90s

Yes very close. First project whole hog, followed by lasagna( I make 4 versions regular with sausage, meatballs and cheese, just cheese, gf/df with meat, gf/df, oops make that 6 veggie both regular and gf/df, I've been known to make all 6 for parties)

Way too many abbreviations this late at night...doesn't matter. I've never met a homemade Lasagna I haven't loved.

Funny story. My DS 'went out' with a nice, pretty young girl in 7th and 8th grade. Two whole years. Funny they never 'went out' anywhere. Best relationship ever for that age, it was so funny. Over the summer going into high school she broke up with him...on his Birthday at our SummerFestival. Once he regrouped, not a nice Birthday present, he had a date for homecoming with yet another Blue Eyed Blonde. A pattern that continued.

I like both pumpkin and pecan but I've never had them together. Too me I don't know how that would go together, but a lot of weird stuff goes together sometimes.

I am a purist. I like my chocolate and pumpkin along with apple pies separately. Together doesn't appeal to me.

Out for me tonight. My baked potato is done, and I'm craving carbs.....I will address this after Christmas!

I made the deluxe Kraft Mac & Cheese for Lunch, had a bagel for breakfast and a little less carbs for dinner, I made paprika chicken over rice for dinner.

Me it is more comfort foods when it is this cold.
