There is one fashion trend I hope doesn't go away. Infinity scarves. I love them because you just toss one on and you look like you made an effort even if you didn't:)

I can't tie a scarf to save my life. I always see pretty ones and have bought scarves over the years; and I can never figure out how to make them look like they do in the magazines. (At least with my winter scarves, those are worn under my jackets, so you only see just the top of them.) Infinity scarves were a brilliant idea for scarf-challenged gals like myself! ;)

Yes, it has, but the dog always wins--he gets such joy out of these toys. I try to buy them on sale! :p
I sometimes wonder... well, not really, but a thought came into my mind while I was reading your response. Since we are unable to really, without margin for error, know exactly what emotion a dog is showing when he/she reacts to something, isn't it possible that what Jack is feeling is terror? That the thing scares him enough that his animal instinct kicks into protect myself mode and he has no choice but to "kill" it to protect his very being? What is his, and other dogs, motivation for tearing apart anything? Anger or Joy? Without the smile muscle in his face how does one really know. This is why I don't own animals, they are way to sneaky. Cats more then dogs, but, still. When he has demolished his "toy" does he look even a little guilty or ashamed that he just took something that you paid for and gave him in love and completely destroyed it without any concern about the effort it took for you to buy, get, bring home, and happily give him, as a gift? No? If you had a husband like that you'd throw him out on his ear. Just a thought! :cautious::)

So this is happening this morning (sorry for the screen in my shot, I didn't feel like going outside for a better shot)....

I'm kind of excited about it, it is the first real snow of the season and it is putting me in the Christmas spirit. @MinnieM123 , don't get any ideas about converting me to cold and snow though, I'd still rather have warm temps and green grass. :)

Had to google the album 'cause I've only ever heard it mentioned here before.
It was recorded at the Tidelands Club at the Tidelands Motor Inn in Houston, Texas on Feb. 10th, 1960. Only about a 32 min. recording.
But, at the 1961 Grammy Awards it won Album of the Year and Bob Newhart won Best New Artist. The first time a comedy album ever won Album of the Year, and the only time a comedian has ever won Best New Artist.
Wow!!! Now I REALLY need to find a recording of this somewhere...! :)

We are talking about a person that recently arrived to what may have been hostile before, but, due to leadership at this point it is allowed to be vocalized and almost heroized. These are people just like you and me. These are people that actually have risked a hell of a lot more then any of us have only to be faced with headlines basically telling them to go home they have no future here. They are hated, they are not trusted and we expect them to smile through this type of climate? Why, because it just proves us as superior or because as lesser beings they are expected to just grin and take it. After all we are the American's. No, I'm sorry, but, the current climate in this country is hard enough for those of us born and raised here to deal with without depression. These people have to walk around with a guilty look on their face or be prosecuted as a undesirable addition to our pristine way of life. And even if we aren't openly hostile, I'm sure that they have no idea who to trust. I know I don't anymore. The ability to have diverse opinions can only be when the society that are the hosts it are not judgmental and crazed by some weird conception that we have been wronged in some way by people that are only trying to improve their own lives. Sorry, I will never let myself think that it is their own fault for being a tad paranoid and depressed. They wouldn't be paranoid if the whole place didn't seem out to get them.

My DD college roommate was collateral damage to the Gulf War, she was born in 1990. Hostile doesn't seem to begin to describe her young life.

I'm watching the snow coming down during some football preshows. It can skip us, I won't be mad.

It says you're a card carrying, crazy dog owner like many of us here!! :D

I just had a the funniest image in my mind of total mayhem -- can you imagine if Belle and Ranger ever met up with Jack?? :hilarious:

My Girl Golden had a routine with new stuffed animals...first order of business was to chew the eyeballs out and then the nose. Walt had to unstuff his critters and was very methodical about it. But here are two toys that I had good luck with.

They had to spend much TIME to destroy those.
