We never met on my dad's side. His mother was Native American, and I didn't know until I looked up his history. People are so weird about family history. I would have loved to meet my dad's side of the family, but it never happened.
I guess my dad's side of the family had some skeletons in the closet...my aunt married a pedophile, which apparently wasn't nearly as bad in the family's eyes as my uncle marrying a native American girl in WWII....I guess he didn't even tell most of the family. When I was doing my genealogy, I called my aunt to get as much information as she might have about the family and she broke down into tears, told me she was so glad I was interested in the family history, but to please be forgiving because our family had a problem with that and there were a lot of things to not be very proud of. I guess my great grandmother left my great grandfather without him even knowing she was pregnant and she joined some religious sect that didn't believe in medicine so she refused to get help when her daughter (a half sister to my grandfather) got...cholera? Or maybe scarlet Fever? Some disease...and she died. My grandfather rather lost his faith in religion. Anyway, I found my family history FASCINATING, but my aunt found it very embarrassing and was afraid I would disown my family when I found out about them. It just made me want to learn more about them. But then, I love history and I think EVERY family has some secrets.

I'm sorry about your son, no one should be bullied. That's just horrible. I hope you can pinpoint the bully. I was bullied by my sister. This makes for a miserable life. I did get over it, I just figured she was a very unhappy person too. But no one deserves this...
Oh there are multiple bullies. The latest incident involved 3 or 4 boys who decided a fun game to play would be to kick the soccer ball as hard as they could at him, repeatedly, to see if they could get him to cry, which of course he did. But he's also just super duper sensitive and has certain triggers, like anything being timed will cause him to completely shut down. He panics. So his teachers are worried about his emotional health. So we're getting some help with that. DD gets bullied a bit too, by one particular girl, but she found out today that this girl has been talking about her behind her back and she just said to me "I don't care what she thinks. I think she's just jealous." She has the self esteem to deal with it and just blow it off, but in her case it's just this one kid saying rude things like that she is ugly or annoying. With DS it's both physical and verbal and it's half his class doing the bullying.
I'm so glad you were able to overcome it with your sister...you didn't deserve that! But you're so right...bullying says more about the bully than the victim. If they were happy, they wouldn't need to treat other people so badly.

Thanks, Bets! :)
I made an appointment with the ER recommended surgeon for next Thursday, so we'll see what he says.
I'm really not worried since anything malignant or life-threatening seems to have been completely ruled out.
It's just frustrating that none of the medical professionals I've seen, so far, can definitively tell me what it is. :cyclops:
Am I the first person on the the planet to have ever had this...or, am I really an alien...!!!  :hilarious: ;) :)
You're not an alien....you're a duck!! ;) I'm glad it's not life-threatening, but it must still be perplexing. I hope they figure it out!

Parent Trap-Original is my all time favorite. I do enjoy the remake but it isn't the original by a long shot. I have the dual set on DVD. That and Princess Diaries are my go to when I need a simple laid back evening.
I should see if I could get a DVD of the original...I bet DD would love it. She loves Mary Poppins, but was not impressed with Bedknobs and Broomsticks. I love all those old movies from when I was a kid!

I didn't like Bedknobs and Broomsticks as a kid and a couple years ago I watched it again and was pretty impressed with it.

But I haven't watched it again since.
