I would think that you would still need a paper pass to put in your windshield simply because they'll want to make sure your vehicle belongs there when you're there overnight. We haven't had a car at WDW for years, but I know Hilton Head and Aulani both still use paper passes in addition to your room key verification. If that is the case, your parking pass should be in your welcome packet and you wouldn't need to stop at the front desk, other than maybe stopping quickly at the online check in desk for the pass. Like I said, I'm not 100% sure, but there should be a CM to greet you, no matter how late you get there, so just ask if you still need a paper pass or if it's 100% electronic. They'll know the answer. :)
If I remember correctly, most DVC and similar hotels (like POR) has a security guard that lets you enter. There is a scanner for your magicband.
So I really dont think you need the paper one anymore o_o

My folks home is definitely a "No Drama Zone". :D ;)
And, y'all would definitely feel like a part of our family if y'all ever joined us...! :)

As I said my two BIL's married two Sisters, so there was always drama with those two couples. The Sisters parents I beyond adore, they were always down to earth lovely people. The mother was part of women's professional baseball team formed during the war and was depicted in the film A League of Their Own. So proud of her, she has her own spot in Cooperstown. An awesome lady but it was her husband that was my bestest buddy.

We both hated all the family gatherings arranged by my MIL and MIL could conjure up reasons for command attendance weekly but we had to put a halt to that behavior. My buddy and I would hideout together usually in the far corner of a bar, porch or anywhere we could hide from nutsville. Whenever we were at their home we'd have so much fun there, it was always laid back. They didn't really care for my inlaws and my inlaws knew it, they were all just cordial. But these people we beyond fun and warm, my kids grew up with a 3rd set of Grandparents even though they were not blood relatives, but they were Grandma and Papa to my kids and they attended every Birthday Party and Graduation, even attended my Dad's Funeral services.

Funny, if you could actually pick Family, these people would have been in mine-but in reality they are. So I know exactly what you mean by feeling part of the family. :inlove:

Oh that's so sad that that was your experience...I'm so sorry! My mom's family did reunions every 5 years or so and it was sooooo nice. Everyone had a great time. But some of us lived so far away, it was the only time we got to see the family, so it made it very special. And my husband's family does get togethers twice a year and it's great. The kids play together and the grandmas and grandpas LOVE seeing all the kids...even their siblings' grandkids. It's not a one-upmanship at all....they take joy in ALL the kids.

Hey! Hi! Good to hear from you again!

Not to worry about me and reunions. With 43 first cousins I can be discerning. My Mom came from a family of 12 kids, so I had plenty of Aunts and Uncles to choose between. All of the cousins live all over the country now and I am now down to two uncles and two aunts that live on. Still I have more relatives that I am close to than most have total, like 'em or not. My Dad's family was smaller, he was one of 3 and only his brother had two sons, one of those cousins only had one DD. Unless she decides to carry on the family name the ancestors of the family name will end with my two cousins on that side of my family. Still I learned so much from that Gran, she was an awesome woman who was just a teen when she immigrated here from Ireland, worked in a sweatshop and built an American Dream life. I have so much family in my life I just really don't feel I am at a loss for not having reunions or huge family gatherings. It just was never a 'thing' in my family-My kids as adults now lack any desire for these events either, they always dreaded them when they were young too.

Well, not in all Disney movies. Quite a few where no one dies or just the bad guy dies. No one dies in Zootopia, Finding Dory, Monsters Inc., the Toy Story movies...quite a few. :)

But you go back to Walt's era of Disney movies and he certainly had a great deal in common with Mother Goose style of scaring the daylights out of kids and killing off of a parent or parents. Still I agree at least Disney has occasionally created some films that are not so dark. But dark does sell, look at Frozen-knocking off two parents created a win of movie. And there is at least some movement towards the gals in the films not always needing to be rescued by a prince from their life. I've noted for years the 'death' thing to be part of the hardboiled plot lines of Disney films in the past and still....even more so the lack of women especially Mom's in the main character's life. My favorite movie has always been the Parent Trap another bizarre-o family structure there.

My dad's been talking about getting Darth Vader or a Stormtrooper and sitting it in the big window on the front of our house so that when people drive by, that's what they see. Or putting one of the ones with a motion sensor out for while we're gone to scare whoever's taking care of the house.

I love that 'dark side' of your Dad. Hilarious.

The weather just gets crazier and crazier....we were colder last week than the North Pole. Santa must be sweltering.:D

Yep. Last week I was riding my bike through the Riverwalk in capri's and short sleeves. Two days later I was trying to find my NorthFace coat.

Farmers Almanac is predicting Gloom and Doom and my favorite and trusted World Renowned meteorologist says he is seeing patterns more towards a warmer winter this year...I want to believe the meterorologist. So I shall. Mental Sanity.

I feel your pain, we used to be very tightly knitted on both sides of my family(mother and father). With family reunions every year on both sides. Now we hardly meet with my mother's side (which is a pretty broken family I must say).
We still meet with my father side from time to time... Still.. We meet less and less in group.

It happens. As people marry, have families of their own, personalities are very different, time restraints, work schedules, we all make choices. Extended-to very extended family I can do without. Especially since I have so many of them and some are unique at best.

I just pulled out the garlic and thought of @MinnieM123 because I'm using jarred garlic. i got lucky and found organic jarred garlic for less than what the DIY stuff costs. I don't mind chopping food and find it relaxing for the most part, except for garlic! If I only have to do one bulb I'll DIY but for anything over that I will sometimes use the jar stuff:hilarious: I also thought of @Gabe1 because I used swimming goggles to chop 4 quarts(finished) of onions:eek:

Proud Moment! :geek:

One that serves food. :p Oh, o.k. I guess you want details. It's a really nice restaurant by the side of the ocean, about a half hour from where we live. They have the traditional turkey dinner, but you can also order off their extensive menu. Most likely, I'll get either a surf and turf combo, or some sort of fish entree. Sometimes I like shrimp cocktail for an appetizer, too. Then, I'll probably get some pie for dessert, or chocolate cake, or both, or ice cream, too. :D Way too many decisions--but I love these types of decisions!! :joyfull: :joyfull: It is Thanksgiving after all !!!!

Oh yum. Share after Thursday.

Maybe I'll make a list of all the sides I taste test out of the couple dozen choices I'm given.
