Can I jump in here as well -- that race yesterday was worth waiting for the entire season!!! :joyfull: :joyfull: OMG -- the surprises just kept coming!!! Thrilled to see that Jimmie made NASCAR history, and will be in that elite group of drivers with Richard and Dale. :inlove: :inlove: SEVEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOO HOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! :joyfull: :joyfull: :joyfull: :joyfull: :joyfull: :joyfull: :joyfull:
I kept praying "Dear Lord, the Indians didn't win so please let Jimmie do it!" My daughter forgot she had a cast on and jumped up at the checkered flag...then immediately sat right back down again. :joyfull: Santa's got a call in for Championship stuff to be sent here. ;)

Oh, @figmentfan423 , I saw the most beautiful sight outside my window this morning -- SNOW!! :p (It was only a dusting, but I'll take what I can get!! :D )
I have some...well a LOT :devilish: you can have. There was a 40 car accident not far from us yesterday.
Sympathy like. Be safe!
If anyone wants so understand which side is correct in this ongoing love/hate battle concerning cold, winter and snow. Have you ever once heard anyone say "Be safe" when someone posts "we got a minor drizzle of rain last night and the ground was all wet this morning"? I'll answer that for you.... NO, no one has ever said that because if god had meant humans to dwell in ice (which snow is) we would have been born with spikes growing out of our feet. I rest my case! :bookworm:

Thank you for a very common sense answer!

I wanted to tag @Gabe1 on that one. Been hearing about this for a few days now. O'Hare is crazy on a "good" day, so I can't even imagine what it's going to be like if some of their workers go on strike for the Thanksgiving onslaught of airline travelers. (I always recall some years ago when I connected through there on a sunny day--we were something like # 26 in queue for takeoff . . . )

First-the strike by choice of the workers was put on hold until the Tuesday after Thanksgiving so they would not mess up Thanksgiving for those patrons traveling.

Background: It is a group of employees that are janitors, some baggage handlers, aircraft cleaners and wheelchair attendants. Chicago on a whole and some suburbs have an organisation for the 'Fight for $15 and a good chunk of these people are minimum wage employees, most of which the airlines have subcontracted to outside firms and the wages are now substantially lower than they were once. They have been picketing on and off for over a year without and budging. They are seeking the ability to join the service union that many of the outside contractors employees belong to for salary and benefit negotiations.

And Ohare while still not great, it has changed its runways and added 3 more and removed some problematic. ones. It was given kudos for one of the most improved airlines for ontime departures and arrivals, still only ontime 78% though, up from 71%. Newark, Ohare, Boston, Laguardia, Hartsfield, Miami, Minnesota, JFK, LA are rated in that area the worst airports for being ontime. A chunk of it is the airports fault but still after working at Ohare for many years-years ago, I look at Ohare and many others on this list and being somewhat fair I have to note the size of some of these airports along with the severe weather that hits a good chunk of these airports. Still, I've sat way too many times at Ohare needing to bury my head in a pillow and scream while waiting for a plane to take me away. Worst was a 5 hour delay sending my son as a kid to Cleveland for a weekend alone. OMG but the time he got there I could have driven him faster.

I wish I could remember who to thank for the stretch pants idea for Thanksgiving. I decided on a stretch velour dress. basic and easy and stretch may be a good idea:confused: I may not get to eat much until after the mob leaves. It seems every year i spend most of my day cooking or getting food served, my guys are such a big help:cautious::cautious::cautious::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: I have fun but that day is very busy. In fact since I've been home it seems I've been very busy because I haven't even gotten the fabric for the apron I want to make. Once it's done I may make the boys wear it:DIMG_0036.JPG

The Thanksgiving/family reunion was a big success, as usual! :)
No closeup food pics, as I didn't remember 'til I had already downed 90% of my plate... :hilarious:
But, I did remember to get a shot of most of the food on the counter, and the dessert table...! ;) :) :hungry:

I've been to a few weddings in Iowa on the inlaw side of the family over the years and this is what your reunion reminds me of. I was kinda stunned the first time we attended a wedding with a potluck in a VFW and one in a basic tent in the parent's yard. As the years have gone on and I left my large Urban upbringing I began to realize our mega urban areas were more of the minority in how celebrations are held. Seeing how everyone pitches in and how much less stressful reunions to weddings must be in circles where life is more slow paced and the cost factor has to be more palatable. It was a real learning curve for me.

Thinking an adaptation of FiB developed by University of IL and Princeton students in 36 hours to identify fake news reports would be awesome for Disney fan websites.

Somehow this makes the mega hole in my finger feel better.
