Yes, I've caught myself before putting Benadryl on my toothbrush. Is Alzheimer's far behind? Mom went down hill really fast, no signs then bam.....she wasn't herself. It's a crazy disease, my Aunts had a slower onset, Mom she just lost it.

It sure is crazy. My father's was the slower onset which was somewhat worse, because he'd drift in and out of the disease. In his more lucid moments, he realized he was spiraling downhill. That was the worst part for him . . .

A number of times (although not recently) we've had Dim Sum in the restaurants in our city's Chinatown area. It's the delicious little dumplings that they have on rolling steam carts--that's the Dim Sum I'm referring to. :hungry:

I get weird looks whenever I say I don't like Chinese food. Had it in college a few times, I wouldn't exactly call it gourmet.

Even though we aren't doing a fish extender for the cruise I thought it would be fun to have a decoration outside our door, so I decorated these stockings. They will have our names on them when I find the puffy paint. I may have bought a few little treats to put in them for hubby.

Those are so cute!!! (You are very talented with sewing, etc.--just like Figgy!) I've been toying with the idea of getting hubs, me, and looney dog, Jack, new stockings for this Christmas. All of ours are old (actually the dog one was more generic, so it was passed down to Jack from our previous dog). I've been keeping my eyes open for sales on these. ;)

There can be a big difference between restaurants of any style

I smiled with your response above to @FutureCEO . It reminded me of my childhood where my (Irish descent) mother honestly thought that Chinese food was something you got out of a can (La Choy!!) with that yucky mixture and some stick noodles.

When I became an adult, I went out with friends to more traditional Chinese restaurants and "discovered" all the delicious and different types of options that were available. It completely changed my opinion of Chinese food -- to heavenly food!! :hungry: (But again, in defense of FutureCEO, not everyone likes the same things, regardless.)

I wouldn't know the traditional Chinese restaurants until it hit me in the face. :D Newport is the only place where I had Chinese food so I'm pretty sure that's not traditional? It's a lot like Italian food. Tony's Town Square is wicked horrible vs. some restaurants up here.

In my opinion, it's the chef that makes the difference. You can't really tell a restaurant's food from the outside, so I can't even recommend a restaurant (in Newport) that appears to be traditional -- because they may or may not be.

Again, Chinese food may not be for everyone, but perhaps at some point in the future, you might just stumble across a place that serves a dish you like. There's a lot of variety in Chinese cooking, and I'm assuming you just haven't found it yet (at least in the restaurant you went to).

I cheated and the stockings were pre made from hobby lobby, I just jazzed them up. Thanks though.

It's not my favorite either, but good Chinese restaurants have a lot of variety on their menus, so it's good to try multiple dishes that are different from one another. I like orange beef or orange chicken, or sesame chicken, but don't really care for other dishes. I don't have it a lot, but my brother loves Asian dishes and my mother loves Chinese, so I'll have it once in a while with them.

Although there was one time when we were going to get lunch to bring to my aunt's house, and my mom, brother, and aunt got Chinese and I went to Chipotle. :hungry:

Sounds good (but I substituted chicken for tofu in my head when I thought about eating it). I don't know if I have ever had hot and sour soup. I was looking at a review for the Dim Sum brunch at Morimoto's yesterday and that was one of the items featured and it looked good and like something I would eat.

psst-it has tofu in it there

by the way...the Peking Duck is beyond awesome. Quack! Quack!
