I did a little shopping today. I was hoping to get all my stocking stuffers bought but Target seemed to be out of a lot of stuff I wanted. Very frustrating. Although I went to Hobby Lobby and I got some fun stuff to decorate our stateroom on the cruise for under $20, which makes me happy because Disney will decorate your room for $80 and I got cool stuff for a lot less. You'll have to wait until my trip report to see the decor! I also knew that I was too tired to cook tonight so I picked up Chinese, hubby was really thrilled. He loves Chinese but we rarely have it.

That's why you got 34 pounds so cheap--most of us can't stand sweet potatoes!! (One exception: for some odd reason, I like sweet potato pie--tastes a lot like pumpkin pie to me. :D )

I thought of @figmentfan423 today as I went through Trader Joe's. In an end case there were organic pre-smooshed sweet potatoes and sweet potato pie. One year surely by not paying attention to what I was doing in the grocery store I bought sweet potato pie (we all hate) vs pumpkin pie (we love). All of us moving it around in our mouths, took me a while to realize what I had done, was blaming the bakers. :D :banghead:

I'll share a picture I took in DC a few years ago

Hey I didn't see you at Hobby Lobby and I was in the Christmas aisles also. :geek:

Needed to go there first before my Mom's cause my Sis has forbidden me to shop there or eat at Chick.
Shhhhhh.

Isn't that funny about animals with FUR on them??!! You'd think they'd be plenty warm in the winter. But our last dog used to plunk herself on TOP of the floor heater (it's an older house, and the heat comes from a grate in each room, at the floor level). She looked so content, and often went to sleep there. If I needed the room, I'd kick her out, as I needed some heat, too, on the coldest winter days! :p

Hahaaa...!!! :hilarious:
This brings back a childhood memory from long before I started acquiring a little extra "insulation" :cautious:  ;) and making TSSFFBRs even in cold weather...! :D
Anyway, when we lived in No Cal back in the day, we had no central air, because it never really got that hot or humid there, even in summer. A lot of times on summer nights, folks would put on a light sweater or jacket.
But, all the houses (in our neighborhood, anyway) were on pier and beam with crawl spaces, and we did have central heat, and we had registers in the floor.
On cool mornings when we had to get up for school, mom would wake us up pretty early, and we'd drag a blanket or two off our beds out to the family room, lay back on the floor with our feet on the register, and we'd lay the blankets over the whole mess. The heat would blow up the blankets like a balloon and we'd be nice and toasty while watching some early morning TV from that vantage point. Heaven...! :inlove: ;)
You should have heard our groans when the heat went off and our warm, toasty balloon deflated...!!! :hilarious:
Pretty sure mom did that on purpose to roust our beeeeehinds to start gettin' ready for school...!!!!! :joyfull: ;) :)

It's funny the variety of things done at schools...my daughter's middle school has a big program with the band playing and vets coming out to be honored, but 10 miles away at my high school it was suggested (by myself and another teacher) to have a similar type program and we were told that there didn't need to be 'another assembly that took kids out of classes for no reason.' No reason??

It has been about ten years since we stopped having Veterans Day as a School Holiday. Our staff lobbied for the day before Thanksgiving instead. (we now have the entire week of Thanksgiving off do to some jocking around during contract season)

Anywhoo the the staff presentation initially was a full assembly with Vets invited and Vets speaking in grade levels. Vets stayed for lunch.

The next year a little less Vet stuff

The following year even less attention to the day...

Now when asked what preparation are being made for the Celebration of Veterans on Vet Day vs Veterans Day off, Federal Holiday. It is the deer in the headlight stare...like the board is on drugs. I have a difficult time with indifference to Vets in our schools now. I wish I could replay the presentation to the board from a decade ago.

@donaldtoo that winery looks beautiful. You sure know all the best places to go, and all your posts make me want to visit your area of Texas someday. :)

Thanks! :)
And, cool! Hope y'all are able to visit this area someday...! We love it here...!!!
But, also, yourself, @Gabe1, and @Wrangler-Rick, have also posted many beautiful pictures from where y'all live. But, we do also have the added advantage of rarely ever having to deal with that pesky snow thing...! ;)
But, as a result, I think we were again the fastest growing metropolitan area in the nation this past year...double/edged sword, that...! ;)

We must have just missed each other. ;) I try not to think about the companies leanings when I shop there as it is such a fun store. I found Mickey and Minnie Christmas ears for us to wear for $7 each and they were 50% off. :)

I'll say. Today for the first time since the middle of March, I wore long pants. Man those are uncomfortable (I have fine looking legs and like to show them off). Fortunately, it has jumped up to a livable 63 degrees and they can go back in the closet.

This morning is the first day we had a hard frost. Not amused. Still it has been chilly enough that I've been back to jeans vs jean shorts for a couple of weeks. *pout*

This week at Macy's I saw a young women 19-21 years old leaving Macy's near dinner time, it was windy and getting pretty cool. She had a short gause type skirt on (cute) a capped sleeved summer tshirt---then tall Ugg Boots . :jawdrop: :joyfull: So funny.

Lots of their stuff is cute and such a variety. There are many things we do not *share* with my Sister but every once in awhile we ooops.

Thanks, hubby thought we needed it, but I didn't we don't order all that much. Another thing to skip, when it expires!

I can no longer imagine my life without Amazon Prime. The Christmas before last I did 90% of my shopping online in one evening sitting on my comfy bed. Done in under 2 hours. 2 days later I had many Amazon delivery people drop things at my front door along with US Mail and UPS. I chose not to pay for wrapping. I'm not such a fan of wrapping.

I do the exact same. Quick, easy, has a lot of great stuff, can do it in my p.js if I want and I avoid the crazy crowds. Can't beat that in my opinion.
