I just realized I forgot to post pics of last night's Joe's Crab Shack meal. Only 2 pics (we were really hungry, so dove in right away... ;)

I was a bit two-fisted... :cautious: My beer and our Bloody Mary's...

EEEKKKKKKK I just realized I'm going to be very busy the week between Christmas and New Year. I can't hem anything I'm making the boys for Christmas because I'm sure they will grow if I hem them now. In fact I made James items just a bit big knowing that will happen. On top of that we may be hosting a New Year's party, I don't want to, nope, no way not going to be fun for us at all. I don't mind Thanksgiving or Christmas Eve and day but I think NYE will just be one party to many! Not to mention it's for the kiddos:cautious:

I played right handed French Horn** (early mellophone) when I was in 8th grade, but, I hated the band leader and quit. My Fathers family were all musical. My Father had a beautiful singing voice and was asked to sing at many weddings. I was able to sing fairly well, but, having my dad as a measuring post, I always felt that I wasn't good enough to be heard in public. I was a member of the local Barbershop Chorus when I was 12, but gave it up when we moved to Vermont when I was 15. I taught myself how to play piano and guitar and still couldn't read music, just played by ear. It has been probably 25 years since I played the piano and around 18 since I played my guitar. (still have the guitar though) It is important to let everyone know that my skill level at both was never good enough for any public viewing. It was mostly for my own entertainment, but, you could always figure out what I was playing, so that made me almost a star. :joyfull:
Mellophone is what our band leader called it, but, it didn't look like anything that is currently known as one. It looked exactly like a French Horn except that it was reversed. It was keyed on the right hand instead of the left and the bell pointed to the left instead of the right. It also had trumpet style valves. So, now I am not sure what they would be called. That is what it was call back in the dark ages. They now look like a trumpet with a thyroid problem.

This is what it use to look like.
Or, like me today!

Taco Bell was some of the first "Mexican" food I ever remember having.
We left San Antonio, Texas for Huntsville, Alabama when I was 4. I don't remember any Mexican meals in either place.
We ended up in San Jose, California in '68 when I was 6. Other than the occasional taco dinner mom made at home, Taco Bell was my first outside the home.
Funny thing is, I don't ever remember going there as a family. I don't remember going to any Mexican restaurants all those years in No Cal (although, we went to many other places as a family). Taco Bell was a place us boys went to for a coupla' cheap "green" (verde sauce :hungry:) bean burritos while we were out ridin' our bikes all over the place during summer vacation or on the weekends.
Then, of course, when we moved back to Texas in '76, and started eating Tex-Mex and authentic Mexican food, all bets were off. Although I agree with you that Taco Bell, generally ;), isn't horrible (we will still eat it from time to time...probably for sentimental reasons... :cautious:  ;)), it's a far cry from the Tex-Mex and authentic Mexican food we have available all over the place here. :)
We have one really good Tex-Mex out here, it's LaHacienda.

There's currently beer in our fridge. No idea when it will get used. Although the last time we had steamed crabs, my dad stole one of my Mike's hard ciders...then complained I buy carpy alcohol, so maybe the next time he wants a beer, he can drink one of the cans. Who knows when that will be.

I inherited my mother's hatred of beer. And her hatred of coffee. But especially the beer. Coffee is gross, too, though.
I like beer bread, one can of beer, self rising flour, and you stir, put in pan...beer bread, add spices to your liking, no waiting for bread to rise.
