There's currently beer in our fridge. No idea when it will get used. Although the last time we had steamed crabs, my dad stole one of my Mike's hard ciders...then complained I buy carpy alcohol, so maybe the next time he wants a beer, he can drink one of the cans. Who knows when that will be.

I inherited my mother's hatred of beer. And her hatred of coffee. But especially the beer. Coffee is gross, too, though.
My dh doesn't drink too often but when he did it was beer, in fact when we were planning our trip he was picking places to eat he looked at the beer selection first:cautious: Fast forward to him having to give up gluten the first thing he checked out was gf beer:confused: Yup beer is disgusting and now that my dh can no longer have it he's been trying my wine:mad: I do enjoy a cup of coffee but it has to be good coffee I'm picky bout what I drink.

I cannot stand the smell of coffee or beer. If I don't like how something smells, I won't drink it/eat it. If I'm in a pinch, coffee will get rid of a migraine, but I really hate the taste.

I would rather not drink than drink beer. I like mault liquors like Mike's hard ciders and wine coolers, so those are cheaper, plus my mom keeps wine around the house. But no beer. And yes, I've tried ones that have no smell. Still hate the taste.

If you still want a mocha, go for it with coconut milk. Coconut milk has far fewer calories than whole milk and it tastes great.
Coconut milk is great. I always have some in my house both cartons ad canned unsweetened of course:joyfull: It's so much healthier than dairy:)

Shopping went okay. I got a couple pairs of pants near the end of my shopping but it was just so tiring trying on pants. Some were too loose (yay), then too tight (sadness), then too long, then too short. I finally found 2 pairs at JC Penny and another pair at Gordmans (don't know if you have it but it is a discount place). The last pair actually fit the best but I almost didn't try them on, it was the price that made me do it as they were under $20. I did find a few Christmas stocking stuffers but there were a lot of stores I wanted to go to but didn't have the energy too.

I was able to meet up with a friend for lunch. I hadn't seen her for a couple months, so that was nice. After lunch though I wanted to go to Target but I just didn't have it in me to fight the weekend crowds. I talked to another friend when I got home and she wants to go shopping in a couple weeks so I will look at Target then. And since I found some pants this week it can just be fun shopping for Christmas and maybe a little for myself.

I can't stand trying on clothes in a store, because as you said, every manufacturer sizes things differently. You'd think that if you are supposed to be a certain size (by measurements), then everything in "that" size would fit?! Nope . . . And as for the length of slacks, don't even get me started on that one. All slacks (unless they're capris) I have to shorten. With men's slacks, for example, those come in specific lengths--why can't they do that with women's slacks, instead of making them long enough for giants--while the rest of us have to take ours to a tailor to get shortened?!

I can tell it's cooling down as I keep finding the cat under the covers of my bed on a daily basis. And she's always toasty warm.

Isn't that funny about animals with FUR on them??!! You'd think they'd be plenty warm in the winter. But our last dog used to plunk herself on TOP of the floor heater (it's an older house, and the heat comes from a grate in each room, at the floor level). She looked so content, and often went to sleep there. If I needed the room, I'd kick her out, as I needed some heat, too, on the coldest winter days! :p

I really think she can keep track of the days of the week.

They know a lot more than we give them credit for. On Tuesday and Saturday mornings, hubs cooks bacon. He said that Jack knows when it's Bacon Tuesday, and Bacon Saturday. He said that on the other mornings, Jack eventually wanders in the kitchen when he has a cereal, or toast for breakfast. But on Bacon Tuesday or Saturday mornings, Jack follows him into the kitchen and sits in front of the stove . . . waiting . . . drooling . . . for his slice of bacon! :hilarious:

^^^^^^ This. Not long ago I bought a pair of pants that are perfect except they were a bit short so I added a nice decorative fabric to the bottom.:) In my case sewing is self defense, I absolutely refuse to pa the highway robbery tailors get

Just curious. Why is it better? (I've never had coconut milk.) But the reason I'm asking is because I grew up on moo juice and drink it every day. I think I'm still alive . . . :cautious: :D
It has more phyto nutrients and the fat in it is more easily digestable for most but not all people. Besides it's super yummy.:hungry::hungry::hungry::hungry: BTW I can't have dairy even yogurt which is supposedly easier on the tummy gives me problems. I'll stick with what works for me.:hungry:

I can sew, too, but on expensive lined wool slacks that I wear for work, I want a professional job done. My sewing skills are minimal. Actually, I have a machine, but it hasn't been used in years and would need a complete overhaul. At this point, I'd rather just take the few things I buy to a tailor, when alterations are needed.

Which is funny because I find wool easy to work with. I'm sure almost every machine I've ever owned has paid for itself just doing alterations. Jeans on the other hand are a PIA to hem

I learned how to sew in high school, and at one time owned a sewing machine. Being the mom of two boys, however, I didn't use it much after they were toddlers. When I wanted to get back to using my machine, it didn't work anymore. Now in my older years, my husband has offered to buy me a new sewing machine, but I have more than enough hobbies, and unfinished projects to occupy my time and money.

Good morning it's going to be a fun day today I have to go to Wegman's and that's wonderful because they have an excellent tea selection.:) The one and yes only one good thing about winter is spiced tea:D
My daughter has decided she wants to make a tea gift basket for my best friends. Since she is propped up in bed most of the day she's been making little Christmas lists. A tea basket for the best friends, a coffee basket for daddy and a chocolate basket for Grandma. She's asking for a "purple" basket with everything individually wrapped. Good thing I like to wrap. :D

I have the opposite problem, I have to buy all my pants tall or they look like flooders. I think that's why I wear shorts and capris almost all year round. I have to do buy longer pants for my daughter too, she's 5'3" already and all leg.
