@Gabe1 Here's an update on the issue with the sped student's mom....she didn't show up to the meeting. :facepalm:My boss said that she was agreeable to Wednesday morning. This is the second time I've been stood up by this woman. There is a scheduled IEP meeting for this kid next week, so we will see if she actually shows up.:cautious:

How? Just how can you be a no show in the district you also work in? Did this lady get her teaching certificate before the basic skills test was mandatory for no child left behind? Twit!

Thanks for the hugs!

Our secretary called over to the elementary where she works and apparently she had a dental appointment. I don't know if it was emergency or not, she still could have called to say she couldn't make it. She wasted the time of three professionals this morning. I think twit is too nice for her.

In reference to my previous Jungle Cruise-related post, it sounds to me like she's in da Nile... :cyclops:

So had a a check up today with my doctor nothing big. But I finally asked him to check out my foot that has been hurting since after my 2 week trip to WDW in June and it has been confirmed that it is indeed a stress fracture. No cast or boot, just have to wrap it up during the day & during activity. I'm glad I don't have to get anything more than this because I would have refused. There's no way I'm wearing a cast during my cruise....I need to wade out to the sandbar on the adult beach at Castaway Cay!

My foot is still sore. I also don't remembering injuring myself. My doctor said no stress fracture, but I do have a bone spur. He also said bursitis most likely due to my age. I have my good days, and my bad days. I just try and rest it as much as I can. It will still swell sometimes, if I am on my feet a lot. I had to take it at a turtle's pace on my vacation, but at least I walked. I was worried that my foot might put a damper on my 10 day Florida vacation, but it was the rain that did that. I can't walk barefoot at all. That's when my foot hurts the most.

I wish you a wonderful time on your vacation. I hope your foot heels quickly, and doesn't hurt too much. It is a real pain not knowing what's up, when one day you are walking normally, and all of a sudden you aren't.

You're kind. :)

It is tough. I'm sure your have had your share of IEPs too. If a teacher doesn't have the support of the building administrators and the Sped coordinators and their staff the teachers are just sitting ducks. Missing the details of this of this color me curious....where is the internal support for the classroom teacher? Who is responsible for reporting the no show sped high school teacher? IEPs are not meant for sped teachers to be hands off. Seems the parent at first blush anyhow is laying into the wrong teacher????

I fell a few feet off a ladder a few years ago and still have issues with that foot. My ortho thinks I might have damaged some of the ligaments and tendons vs a break after I revisited it last fall with him. He wants an MRI now. He is right but at the moment if surge ry is the answer it isn't a good time for elective surgery so I continue to push it off.

MRI's are no fun. I will live with my foot the way it is for now. The pain is usually more of a burning sensation, and the swelling is minimal now that the weather is cooler. I understand you not wanting surgery. I am looking at possible eye surgery that I am dreading.

Nope just my own walking power. I wish I had a fun story with it, although I guess since it is from all the walking at Disney that makes it a fun fracture. Maybe.

I had a stress fracture in my back. I could not lay flat for a year and a half. How? Standing up from sitting on the couch.

If the wrap doesn't work...from all the times my broke her foot go for the boot. While not ideal you can take it off to bathe, lay in sun but it is there for support when it doesn't really make a difference. The one thing we learned was to purchase a shoe the same height as the elevation of the boot so you are not hobbling. Lessons learned the hard way.

It's feast of famine for the Cubs. Well at least they are hitting again. Tomorrow is another must win game. Tonight's game isn't over yet, but looks like they should win. Is 8 runs enough?

Sure hope so. The Cubs have had the most awesome season no matter what the outcome. We had a wondrous season of no complaints. Nobody could argue their stats this year throughout the leagues.

Blah! If I am not prying, what type of eye surgery?

I have what is called a macular pucker on my right eye. Bottom line, that is scar tissue. On Monday, I have an appointment to see a Retina Surgeon. I believe that I see just fine with my glasses. I am badly nearsighted, and have been my entire life since having corrective eye surgery at the age of 7, for a crossed eye. My regular eye doctor has been monitoring this condition for a while, and thinks the condition is getting worse. I am sure I will ask the eye doctor many many questions before agreeing to eye surgery. I am a big chicken.
