Just curious, has anyone been watching "The Chew" this week? They are showing the episodes the show recorded last week at Epcot for Food and Wine. I am not a regular watcher of this show, it is okay but some of the hosts are a little annoying. But anyway, I'm finding these shows pretty disappointing they aren't really showing much of WDW or Food and Wine Festival. In fact it seems to me like they are just doing stuff they would normally do in their studio. It's like why go on location if you aren't going to show much of the location?! I was just wondering else was watching and was as disappointed as I was.

On Friday's I don't have to be to work until 7:45 am and since I live super close I really wouldn't have to get up until around 7 am. But I might get up at 6:30 and have a decent breakfast instead of Cheerios. I guess we'll see how much the dog wants to snuggle.
I have to get up at 6:30 just for the commute. It can take up to an hour to get to the closer office, about 90 minutes for the further away office on a bad day. I'm looking for something closer to home for after I come back from travelling. For many reasons, but the commute is one of the big reasons.

I have never had a long commute before I got married and moved into the town I teach at I lived about 20-25 minutes away. So it wasn't a bad drive in normal road conditions. In snowy conditions it would take a lot longer. The main road is decently traveled but very winding and hilly so not meant for speedy travel in poor conditions. I do like my commute now, especially at the end of the day!

I can't say we've ever had any trouble flying Southwest out of BWI. Usually takes about 6-7 hours from the time we leave the house to setting foot on Disney property. Well worth it for us not to drive. My dad, if we drive, always insists that he drive the entire way. At once. It's not exactly ideal. So we fly. :) It also ended up being a good thing last trip when my dad had to go home for a funeral midtrip. We just booked him a flight to go home and come back (and Disney, fyi, was wonderful about accommodating us for ME and dining reservations).

The two times we've flown haven't been that bad of flights (once our return got postponed 4 hours, so we went back to the parks for a while!). But...we have a hybrid, so our driving cost is about $80 each way. The best Southwest sales are never during xmas, spring break, or summer which is when this two teacher and one student family travels, so airfare is usually $150-200 each. We can find quite a few good uses for that $300+ savings at DW! And, as aforementioned...the family zaniness in the car is pretty priceless. :)

2 am is pretty quiet too...:D

My brain doesn't turn off early enough for me to get enough sleep and get up that early. I can't get to sleep before at least 11 pm, sometimes midnight. If I'm asleep before then, it's because I'm either really sick or completely worn out.

Right now, it's 11pm and it is quite rare that I am up this late. In fact, pretty crazy. I'm up at 5:15am every day. Gotta be to school at 7am and the drive is about 25-30 minutes. That hour before my daughter is awake and before I leave for school is pretty priceless. The 25 minutes in the car with music...that's priceless, too!

Well, if you ever do decide you want to fly, midweek in the summer can run as low as $120 out of BWI. You just gotta monitor and hit it right. :)

I'm doing this insane trip out to CA for Disneyland with a friend and then am flying straight to Orlando from CA to meet my family in WDW. I managed to get a flight for $129 from San Diego to Orlando, although I used my frequent flier miles and it was a grand total of $41. My friend got hers for $150 from San Diego to BWI. Not bad, although the flight out there is looking pretty expensive.

not to mention all the walking in the open areas towards each hotel building.
I think POR is the most exposed of all the hotels right? along with COR.

Apart from that, I think the worst is OKW. The distance between the farther rooms to the lobby is a huge road.

POR is the only moderate we've ever stayed at, so I can't speak to the others, other than from what I've heard.
In '01 we stayed in the bayou section in building 27, in '04 we stayed in building 17. Not the closest to the main building, but, much closer than most.
Really LOVE that resort...! :inlove: :)

Tonite I will be watching the Dodgers/Nationals game. I'm rooting for the Nationals.

It just dawned on me today, that I will probably have to wait almost an entire year before enjoying another Disney vacation. That is so depressing. What will I do in the meantime?
I know the feeling. It will be 2 or 3 years before we get back:( So far I've recreated a few of our favorite Disney meals and watched a few Disney movies . Hanging out here helps a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!! This weekend is a Potter marathon on Freeform. We're also starting to plan a few short trips for next summer. DC, Hershey/Lancaster Pa and a wine tour. None of them are Disney but all fun and much cheaper!

So my DD who loves good Finds at GoodWill had some luck today.

Light up Mickey Pumpkin. Out the door cost $2.15 I guess some people don't like their impulse buys at WDW or the receiver of the gift casted it off quickly to GoodWill. It will live on top of her black book shelf.
Congrats on her major score. I always look for things like that at yard sales.

Oh, that's too bad. I love hummus!! :hungry: And, keep in mind that it may be the way it was prepared--it's like everything else--there's good hummus and then there's not so tasty hummus. :cautious: At our grocery store, we have about 3 brands of hummus and I definitely like one much better than the other two they sell. I've also had homemade hummus from a nice lady at work, who grew up in Lebanon. It's her grandmother's recipe, and it was delicious.
I think homemade hummus is best. I make a few versions plain, roasted red pepper, lemon and garlic, carrot(a bit sweet but the boys like it) and a low carb one with cauliflower
