Sometimes, my cat will just be slinking around the family room, and I call her over, and she gives me this excited look like, "Really? I can come?" and then excitedly comes over and plops on my lap while giving me this look like, "I love you so much!"

It's the cutest thing, but I'm wondering if she's actually a dog in disguise. :hilarious:

I said something similar to my husband (although we don't have a long weekend), and I want to be in Disney all the time. Then I dealt with my 7th graders and I thought, "Hmmm, maybe being in Disney in a hurricane wouldn't be so bad."

At Disney during a hurricane>dealing with wasps in the bathroom at work.:in pain:

A former student from 20 years ago who has now become a close friend and colleague (she also now teaches band) is at Disney right now. Their flight back to Maryland was cancelled. Disney is allowing them to stay in their room through Saturday (free of charge) at Coronado Springs. They are currently at the lounge at Coronado getting the free drinks (Hurricane Happy Hour is until 10pm). I would definitely rather be in The World during a hurricane than most other places on a beautiful day. :)

Color me a little jealous. No... a lot jealous.

Seriously, if that were really a problem every swimming pool in the world would be closed. Don't believe everything that you read. It is not a very sophisticated thing to do, but, no one that I have ever heard of has been injured or even was aware if someone pee'd in a pool and it has been happening ever since bodies of water have existed. So you have any idea how much chlorine is in the water that we drink? We should all be wondering around with tears in our eyes. How many people are aware that when you say chlorine you are actually saying Chlorine Bleach. Yes, the same jugs of bleach that we use in our laundry is dumped directly into the water that we drink. Anyone feel less like being hydrated then before?

You know I really enjoy the vast majority of your posts but this one I sent off to my son. His degree is in Parks and Rec and holds 3 certifications in Pool Maintenance. Sadly it is true many pools are at dangerous levels. Hot Tubs even worse. It depends on the commitment of staff to keep levels proper and to close pools when they are out of balance. See a cloudy pool chances are it is contaminated.

He specifically has said chlorine is not the answer to urine in a pool. Urine by our metabolism is more an ammonia based liquid. He suggests you think of mixing bleach and ammonia (a huge no no) which is similar to urine and pool chlorine. It is a bad chemical reaction especially for those who are young, old or with health conditions. It is also why it is suggested that people shower after going into a pool. Further people going down slides and diving boards frequently ingest or inhale water. He is saying this is why kiddie pools are closed frequently because the balance in those small bodies of water and babies doing what they do, the chemicals get out of whack frequently. Said this is why the national standard of World Waterpark Association is moving away completely from kiddie pools and going to splash areas for the very young and making use of the the zero depth areas. He suggests you visit some resorts at Disney your next trip and see how Disney is replacing their old tiny kiddie pools with splash areas instead. It is solving that problem. He also noted how unsafe so many bodies of fresh water are even in the USA and why Disney long ago stopped the practice of allowing guests into freshwater lakes in WDW. Beaches are also monitored and are closed when e coli levels are too high for public use around the country along with the push worldwide to bring clean water to 3rd world areas where people don't bathe, etc., in their source of drinking water.

Hope that helps.

Cesar, If you have something to say... say it. Those Memes are not only getting old, but, they are insulting and mostly unclear in their intent. If you have a different viewpoint, then make it and not based on some article that you have read but from your actual experience. I do not claim to know everything, but, there are many things that have passed over my plate in my 68 years. Water, water treatment and purification happens to be one of them.

I understand that this topic is slightly disgusting to talk about, but, factually, it is true and it is part of the world we live in. It's best sometimes to grasp reality instead of pretending that things don't happen.

The kids still do this when they are at school, especially when they are supposed to be working on a project on the computer. :( When I catch them at it, they are usually just writing silly stuff.

Not in our middle schools but in our High Schools students are allowed to use cells at lunch and during passing periods. Me, I think our administrators would go down kicking and screaming before they would ever allow this to happen in our middle schools. They use to make them be off in their lockers but that caused another set of problems with theft early on.

I admit to not being a diehard Cubs fan at all. I've been disappointed too many times. However, I will be watching. Sadly, if they win it all, the victory will not be as sweet for me, as for those who believe, and always support their team to the bitter end. My older son is one of those fans.

Just telling it like it is.

I understand that, but, did he happen to mention how many people would have to pee in a pool to make that degree of hazard? Did he happen to mention how many people have been rushed to that hospital over the years because of that exposure. We are talking about minimum risk at the very worse and I am just trying to tell folks that there are a lot of things to get grossed out about, but, that is hardly one of them. But, I didn't expect that anyone would change their mind, I just wanted to say that it is not worthy of worry. Very few people in 3rd world countries have swimming pools. Also urine is sterile when it leaves the body. It isn't until it is exposed to bacteria that it becomes contaminated. Chlorine has allegedly taken care of that situation.

Listen, I'm not advocating peeing in the pool, I am merely trying to explain why it isn't something to worry about, unless its in a babies pool, which is understandable, small amounts of water, large amounts of pee. The point is that there really is no health hazard in a large pool. We as humans do not urinate constantly.

Our district has a complete policy about device use. The official party line is that devices are only used for academic pursuits under the supervision of a teacher. The reality is that during lunch and other 'less academic' times, phones are constantly in use. Between classes is a free for all (no rules!). At the MS level, the kids really don't use the phones between classes as they have very little time to move and would rather chat with their friends in person than on the phone. At the HS level, kids are constantly on their phones. The way I manage it is..."If I'm teaching you, working with you, or talking to you NO PHONE. If I'm working with someone else and you have done everything you need to do, then you have some freedom - just don't abuse the freedom or it will go away."

Your son and I have something in common. My Mom would take my Sis and I to Wrigley every Tuesday when I was small and they were in town. It was ladies day and we were all free. Then she'd buy us all sorts of park food.
Good times. My love never died despite it all. Me, I'm not holding out hope but it has been a great season. Enough now to make up for my Bears.

Each and every in and out text message is on your account info and the phone numbers being texted.
Something Tiger Woods failed to realize likely. lol
Theres something that a lot of people never realized too.
Every email server on the planet, usually "bounces" your email server until it reaches the destination. Like a huge game of jumping marbles.
Every server usually retains a copy of said email.
This was a problem years ago because the emails were not encrypted and mostly were sent in plain text format.
So anyone could read the emails :P
But nowadays with services like gmail. The email systems are getting more and more centralized.

Since you asked here is what we had booth by booth (take of it what you will) I will indicate if we liked it or not.... And we really only had food, I had a couple beer samplers but I know you don't like beer... (Also we ate all this over 3 days and really only ate at Epcot for most of our meals, but yes we were pigs.

Craft Beers: Piggy Wings (with South Korean BBQ sauce) EXCELLENT!!!!!! A top pick
The Chew Collective: Peanut Butter with White Chocolate Mousse, it was good but the serving was super tiny really only a spoonful for both of us.
Greenhouse Guru: Duck confit with creamy polenta & salsa Yummy.
Chocolate Studio: Nitro Chocolate Mousse was Yummy also the Red Wine Truffle very good and could taste the wine
Islands of the Caribbean: Mojo pork with Cilantro rice and beans Yummy close to a top pick
Greece: Greek Yogurt Vanilla cake soaked in Ouzo....This was okay but tasted like black licorice ( I don't care for that much)
Patagonia: Beef skewer with chimmichurri EXCELLENT AND MY FAVORITE!!!! (ate it twice this year and last year)
Hawaii: Kalua pork slider....Very good a top pick
Farm Fresh: loaded mac and cheese.... Very good a top pick (last year it was just okay)
New Zealand: lamb meatball (Hubby had this as I don't eat lamb and he liked it a lot)
Australia: Lamb chop (Hubby's absolute favorite) and I had the Lamington (cake with chocolate & coconut) it was good but I could make that at home easy peasey
Mexico: flan (okay) and Barbacoa enchilada which was yum yum yummy!
China: Duck in the steamed bun (good) and the Sichuan Chicken EXCELLENT another top pick
South Korea: BBQ beef (it was just okay but seemed a little bland)
Africa: both the Berbere beef and the Butter chicken are EXCELLENT and top picks
Poland: this was a top pick last year and again this year with the kielbasa and pierogies
Italy we skipped as it's booths have always disappointed, but we did relax and have tasty food at the Tutto Gusto Wine Celler
Hops and Barley: smoked beef brisket EXCELLENT!!!
Japan: Spicy Sushi Roll (Hubby had this and loved it.)
Morocco: Hummus fries EXCELLENT it was a surprise hit out of nowhere. We don't really eat hummus, well that is going to change!
Belgium: braised beef....this was okay but I can make just as good at home
Brazil: meat pie (it was bland, bring salt and pepper), cheese bread YUMMY! Last year we got the pork belly and like that, didn't get it this year
France: we loved both the beef bourguignon and the creme brulee
Ireland: warm chocolate puddling with Irish cream liqueur custard....Do I even need to say it was yummy! It was.
Scotland: Potato pancake with smoked salmon...the potato pancake was great but I hate fish so I didn't try that part of it
Canada: both the beef filet and the cheese soup were EXCELLENT!

Hope my list didn't bore you too much. And now I'm really hungry.....;):hungry:
by the way, theres 2 types of Flans in Mexico, the water one which is pretty flavourless. And usually poor people eat them. Since its cheaper.
The Restaurant flan in the other side, packs a lot of flavor and is similar to he creme brulee in texture. I always hated the diluted one and preferred the restaurant dense one with milk.

also yikes.. I wonder if I should make a list if I ever go to WDW during food and wine and get similar offers. a lot of what you mentioned sound delicious!

We are at Disney a couple years ago when a Category 5 came up the coast and went by Massachusetts (of course it was a tropical storm by then). I, unfortunately, had to stay a day or two later.

The future storm track has it making a u-turn.
I wonder if its true or not. but someone online on twitter posted an image of the expected path in the full week. and the storm does a full "merry go around" turn to hit florida twice (because it gets pushed by the other hurricane-tropical storm named Nicole) which is heading for the bermudas.

At least you didnt get those hilarious "At what time the 3:00 pm parade starts" type questions? :hilarious::hilarious: XD

No, but, we did have different in-store events from time to time with the times clearly posted on a handout we had given out earlier in the week (same people) and also on a big decorative board right next to the box office, and they would still come up and ask what time it started... :cyclops: :hilarious:
