There were some Falcon/Eagle soaring around, trying to hunt Fish.
We managed to catch some Alligator momma and tons of babies!
After finishing the mini everglades tour, We went to the cocodrile show. Where an expert explained more about alligators and the biggest danger to the ecosystem in the everglades.. including this individual.
That was introduced by some exotic pet owner who threw the animal because it was getting so big. This guy eats eggs.. A LOT OF THEM.. OVER AND OVER, leaving nests decimated. And since has no predators.. they are decimating the alligator and many other species.
Also explained the importance and huge variety of snakes on the Everglades and surrounding areas.
And of course, safety on how to handle meeting a "danger noodle" in the wild.
Have a video!
After that, the classic photo with an Alligator. Not a fan of having these little guys being tossed and touched and with tape x_X
After that. We went to the store and I again bought some magnets.. and new glasses, because my old ones shattered when I was getting down from the Bus x_X.
Once we finished refreshing. We returned to the Bus to return to the Port of Miami to change buses.
The Bus graciously dropped us very close Miami Beach (2 blocks away). So we walked to check the famous South Beach zone.
Have a monstrous Panorama.
Once we cheked, viewed..etc.. we decided to bail towards the main street again (the sun was insane!, I was red as lobster and our skin was burning).
Plus we were hungry, so we decided to check some restaurants.
TIP for those who havent been to this area.. CHECK ALL RESTAURANT PRICES FIRST. We were dumb to sit down on the first restaurant on the line. And it had almost 20% price hike compared to the others a few blocks more to the north.
And they had very similar dishes.
Regardless of that.. the food was very nice and It was a lot. So I ended eating the same as dinner at the hotel.
This area is very pleasant. Lots of people partying.
We also got in the middle of a very interesting conversation between a very excited old man who was extremely thin.
And a muscular black man. Both of which seemed to have worked for the same company in the same city (Chicago).
It was weird to see the old man happily screaming "WHAAAAT?" YOU TOO????, I WORKED THERE TOO!". Because everyone was looking.
The wife and her daughters were unfazed and the Afroamerican man was also happy to share...
And thats it!.. After eating, we went to walk towards the north to see if we could get inside a famous old house. Unfortunately It was transformed into a luxury hotel/restaurant. And it had huge bouncers who were clear that it was for guests only. What a shame! As the building had decor very similar to Vizcaya House.
Anyway, We were drained and we decided to call an uber to get back to the hotel.
A very sympathetic man from Cuba was our driver. But there was some weird stories that were hard to believe lol.
Like he said he worked his butt off for years, and then now works as one of the top high ranking immigration officers for the government of Miami.
If thats true. He drives Uber because he gets bored and he worked so long he simply doesn't like to stay doing nothing.
I dont know, but he had a luxury style Lexus Suv. So his story was kinda convincing.
So after returning to the hotel. We put a lot of cream in our burned skin (lol) and we went to take a long nap.
After that we walked to check out the beach.
the zone is VERY pleasant. including a walking/running wooded street for pedestrians that is covered by tall trees giving shade. And the sea is right next to it.
aaand thats it for the day.. Tune in for next day!
September 3 Part 1 which is MOVING TO FORT LAUDERDALE and into the OASIS OF THE SEAS.
