Carnitas (always with an s) is barbecued pork. Chipotle has taken them off their menus for a while at some locations because one of their suppliers was not meeting their standards. Actually, the fact that they have done this makes me feel even better about eating at Chipotle; they have their standards and make sure that their suppliers are upholding those standards.

Chipotle is extremely popular down here, especially among college kids. I can think of four locations within a 30 minute radius of me, with another one that they are building, wait for it...near my college.

Chipotle is very popular in northern Illinois. I remember about a year ago they pulled their grass fed beef off and for a short while went with traditional
Beef until they could find a different supplier

or you poor souls dont have a real Mexican restaurant.
claiming taco bell is anything remotely related to Mexico is an insult to any Mexican just fyi ;)

anyway, Carnitas is a dish of boiled or fried pork meat (usually fried on pork's grease) and served with tortillas or in tortas ahogadas.
They have this salty BBQ flavor.

I've seen what is inTaco Bell's tacos Not coming anywhere near my mouth Ever. :depressed:

But, if it's on the internet it has to be true!!! :hilarious: I kinda had a feeling that was the case!!

I didn't realize you were so far from Ottawa - I'm woefully lacking in my knowledge of Canadian geography!!! ;)
Don't worry about it. There have been literally millions of people that have lived full, successful lives without any knowledge of Canadian geography. Oh, they probably know where the border is, but, have managed to not have any desire to find out what is on the other side. You'll notice that @JenniferS spends vacation time in the states and I have never heard her mention any spots in Canada where fun can be had.;)

The distance from Brantford to Ottawa is: 552 km/342 miles.
Sadly, this includes the brutal Hwy. 401 stretch through Toronto, which is stop and go for at least an hour. More, if you get stuck in rush hour traffic. Even more, if there is an accident. Even more yet, if there is construction.
I was on that road a few years ago in that stop and go section when I came the closest that I have ever been to watching my life flash before my eyes. I was stopped in a line and I happened to look in my rear view because I heard a noise back there. It seems that a flatbed truck loaded with giant rolls of steal (probably headed for car manufacturers) must have dozed off or something because he hit, at full speed, the back of a small car and proceeded to push it directly toward me. I even braced for the hit. At the last minute it kind of moved slightly to the right and just missed my car by inches. As it passed by me on my right, it was so close that I could see clearly the poor young lady that was in the car. I can't even describe her facial expression as the truck pushed her severely shortened car past me. Just as the front wheels of the truck got even with my passenger door, the truck started to climb up the back of the car flipping the truck over on it's side and pinched the car forward and spun it around in front of the truck coming to rest just a few feet from the front of the truck that was now laying on it's side. I looked behind me and only a few feet away from the back of my car was a giant roll of steel. It would have crushed my car had it fallen off the truck just a few seconds later.

I think I didn't stopped shaking for a week. I don't think the girl was injured seriously, but, I can only imagine how in shock she was. The front compartment of the car did not seem to have any damage at all. When I left there were hoards of people climbing up the truck to see what had happened to the driver. I would have stayed to help if there had been no one else there, but, armed with my limited knowledge of emergency procedures, it was better that I just moved out of the way.

Yikes. Glad you weren't hurt. I'd say that accident was a bit more than a fender bender, eh?

Been there once. Never again.

I rarely go out for meals, so if I do go out, I would rather get something freshly made and more expensive than something cheap with questionable origins. If I need something cheap, my choice is usually Subway because it's still fresh, something from the grocery store, like freshly made soups, or something from home.

I think most people my age are of the same mentality. They may eat Ramen because they are trying to save money, but when they go out, I can guarantee it's not McDonalds or Taco Bell. Except for some of the guys. Maybe.
