This is wonderful. When we lived in K.C. we had sun flowers pop up in our back yard. We always fed the cardinals with the oily sunflower seeds, other birds would pick up what was dropped on the ground , under the bird feeder. They didn't get them all , we loved seeing surprise flowers in the fall. We knew they were coming, so we mowed around them. So much fun, and beauty.

The details from the accident should be interesting. How did they hit the rocks at full speed, in nice weather, and jettison the boat that far up on the rocks? At first they said acohol wasn't a factor but now have ordered toxicology on all three.
Should be extremely interesting. In the meantime, it's just absolutely terrible. There was a video of the Marlin's manager trying to keep it together during the press conference. They turned their ballpark into a memorial, with his number on the pitcher's mound and there are pictures of his teammates kneeling at the mound, which are absolutely heartbreaking. All teams paid tribute to him today. I was there for the Orioles' tribute. Not a dry eye in the stadium. David Ortiz, who was playing his last game at Tropicana Field, was supposed to have a pregame ceremony like he has had elsewhere. He asked for it to be cancelled in lieu of the tragedy. That was a classy move.

Will have to see if it applies internationally too.
Anyway, since I'm still in the red, I'm debating a few options (since all Canadian options need at least some money saved to start).

  1. Keep working where I am until I reach the threeshold.
  2. Keep working where I am, and then Study while working on my current job (as soon they normalize my salary)
  3. Work for a Cruise Line in some management or tech position. Hell, I could take a course of photography and enter in (as I have some experience). Save money and then go to study.
I don't know what you will choose, but I'm so glad you have options. I know you will think this through carefully. Best of luck on your decision.

They could have been distracted, or worse.. a "dare" ("I dare you to go full speed as close to the rocks") then too close, a strong wave.. bamg!

I'm leaning for the cruise option. If I get rejected I can always go back to the other options.
Besides, I'm getting old. there will be a moment I wont be able to work 12+ works like I am doing these years.

I just was glancing through this thread and noticed that any mention of me has seemed to completely dropped off the radar so another injection of Goofyernmost life is seeming to be necessary. I did post a picture of a VW Passat that wasn't the one that I was getting and I finally have one of the actual vehicle. I apologize because I'm sure that many of you have been having trouble sleeping nights anxiously awaiting the following picture, so without any further ado or BS... here it is!

Our old car is exactly the same color! Good choice. It's really good at hiding dust and dings. We have plenty!

During a normal delivery of their first my BIL went splat on the floor. Completely out....:joyfull: I still crack up when I think about it.

Oh my...!
The nurses kept askin' me, but, there wasn't a single time in all those hours I even felt lightheaded, but, from as many times as they inquired, I figured it must happen often...!

It didn't even phase me when Doc did the episiotomy and blood squirted all over one of my black Kaepa tennis shoes...!!!  ;)

Every summer when we took our annual trip from No Cal back to Texas to my mothers hometown our relatives would throw a weenie roast. It was always the red ones from the local butcher shop...sooo darn good grilled...!!!
Good times...!!!!! :hungry:
My grandma and grandpa, had a weenie roast on the fourth of July, homemade ice cream ( we each, got a turn to spend some time churning the ice cream, boy it was good!.... Grandma saved spoons from DQ, when they had really bright primary colors, with the cone on top. We got to pick our color for ice cream, I could never decide between bright red, or bright blue. Decisions....decisions....

The other 2 kiddos births were over in minutes because of scheduled c-sections.

When Doc took DS he called out "We got a pink one!" (which was obviously good, 'cause he wasn't purple, gray, blue, etc.), then, he immediately handed DS to Neonatologist, who took him and told me too follow him. We went to another room down the hall were he laid him in one of those glass-railed raised table things. He suctioned him out a bit, then started bagging him. He remained pink.
He was sooo tiny, his skin was still somewhat translucent. His head was about the size of a tennis ball and he was only 10 inches long fully stretched out. It was like nothing I've ever seen.
I asked the Neonatologist if I could touch him, and he said yes. I laid my right pinky in the palm of his left hand...he grasped it, and that's when I finally lost it for about 10 seconds.
It was just me, the Neonatologist, and DS in the room. He said if I hadn't lost it a bit, he would have...!
Then, some nurses came in, and they rushed him upstairs to the NICU while I rushed back to the OR to get back to DWifey.
Woof...!

Thats every day for me!.

Anyway why are you awake? cant sleep? someone disturbing your sleep? Who do we punch?
I wake up every night at 3 A.M. That 's when I took my dogs out for a bathroom break. After thirty years, I don't seem to be able to break the habit. It's cold in the house, so I crawl under the covers and try to go back to sleep. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Then I turn on an infomercial. That does the trick!
