Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
It's funny. When we were at MK in Feb. Wishes started while we were about halfway done on 7DMT. We exited and watched it all from behind the castle for the first time ever.
The fireworks were goin' off all around and even over us...it was beyond amazing...!!!!!!! :joyfull:
SonIL recorded the whole thing on his Go Pro. Hafta' try to post that video.
And yes, I remember posting this before...! ;)
We've done mine many times. Broke down tonight during party 4x. Cute but too many issues

In other news, back home safely.. I'm destroyed body wise, but man.. what a great vacation!

Now to wonder where the hell I can put my trip report and see how I can slowly catch up on my 30,000 notifications on the many sites I go.

Cesar, happy to hear that you and your mom arrived home safely. So glad that you had a nice vacation, as you really needed a rest after all the things you deal with between work and home.

Yep, I'm not that much younger than a lot of the older folks on this site, and I can't imagine not having a cell phone with me.
I can't even count the number of times it's come in handy when we needed communication and we were away from landlines. If for no other reason, peace of mind is worth it for me.
Agree!
Still, I think everyone has their own reasons.
For example. cell phone can be unreliable here (they oversell the services and sometimes the cell towers are saturated)
also during heavy storms like hurricanes or quakes, the celltowers are the first to go down (service wise).
Landlines are almost 99.999% reliable here.
They hardly fail. Plus in the event of power failure, since the copper is powered by the phone company's generators, they always work.
cell phones in the other hand (or fiber landlines) still require the modem and splitter, which needs energy.

Not that this has anything to do with the bathroom, but I think you are like me. We both having culinary experience so it's just second nature to wash our hands often and more than just a rinse.
I think in my case is a bit beyond that. I just do not like to smell bad or feel gross. I instantly wash or shower after I feel "sweaty".
Thats probably because of my oversensitive nose.
I always also tell politely to my mother when her breath smells. even if im kinda far away, I can still smell that.. So sometimes its kinda nightmarish for me to get into a elevator full of dirty people who do not even shower (happens a lot in "comic" conventions x_x )

I wasn't trying to switch the blame, I was trying to convey the purpose of the actions and benefits of how your body is designed to operate. You are free to do whatever you wish, it was just a suggestion. Stay healthy in anyway you deem appropriate. And please roll your eyes in a different direction, I don't doubt your intelligence, however, you, like the rest of us, me included, are not infallible. None of us know it all!
You're still not getting the point.
It almost feels like you're giving excuses to people who dont perform BASIC HYGIENE that was taught everywhere and reinforced with signs everywhere. And then claiming that all is because "you need to man up and your immune system do your work".
These people are NOT BABIES.

Next are you going to say that its ok for everyone with lethal illness like the korean chicken flu, the Ebola and other deadly illnesses prance around in airports hugging, shaking hands.touching everything other people do.. because we need to "man up" and "get our immune system to work" ?
There is a huge difference in being paranoic (aka disinfect everything every 5 minutes with super strong sprays, using heavy chemicals on your skin to "clean up", using masks every day. Than using basic hygiene.
And I'm not even talking about people who dont even flush or stain the seat with pee/poo everywhere because they are aholes... :banghead:

Ditto, ditto, ditto! Especially since you don't know what you are touching (like handles or locks) of someone who may have done something I don't want to think about before your turn. :depressed:
oh gods .. this!
There was this nasty report that also talked about that.
How some people do some nasty stuff, dont wash hands, then touch everything..ewww.
I dont understand that mentality!!

The past hour, in a nutshell

As I'm ready to walk out the door for work, the power blinks. After dealing with everything beeping, I discover that we have no internet. I reset the router. No luck. I call one of the owners to say that we have no internet.

Meanwhile, I'm late for class, so I rush over here, whip into a parking spot, and rush in. As I wait for the elevator, I see there's an email. It's my professor saying class is cancelled.

So I rushed here..for nothing. Sigh. At least I have some free time.
