Thanks I live in the woods and don't have city water. It isn't too bad to change out except for pulling out the old one it's a rather easy fix. Our local plumbing supply store always has several in stock so as soon as we double check which one we need we'll grab it and drop it in. I'll have water by sometime today:joyfull:

So I imagine you also must have a generator, too, for the pump--if you ever have a power failure, right?

I have the same boss technically. The firm's owners are still the same. I report to them now instead of reporting to a manager because, well, I'm one of the managers. The other manager and I are equals and will be working out of different offices, but likely still tag teaming on a lot of issues.

I feel kind of bad for the manager that I replaced. She trained me to do a good bit and likely had no idea one of her interns would end up being her partial replacement. At the same time, given how much has fallen through the cracks, it's no wonder they made this decision. It made today pretty hectic, though. I kind of wish someone had told me that they were letting her go so that I would have been a bit more prepared for stuff like coming in and finding all the passwords had been changed.
Maybe she was too busy training interns to plug all those cracks. Upper management demands more sometimes then is humanly possible and still have a family life. Follow Dilbert, that comic strip is so close to real life that it is almost scary. Talk about having ones finger on the pulse of the business world, this guy has got it completely covered.

I wonder if they would add barriers. I know a few buildings were actually lifted and elevated by platforms to avoid floods.
can you imagine if they start addding "stilts" to all these buildings?
I suppose they could treat Florida like Denmark and build dikes all around it. Stilts wouldn't work for long before it all just fell into the ocean. I think they could wisely take the money that "Mexico" is going to spend on building the wall and make a protective barrier around Florida.;):joyfull:

Very interesting, busy, full day at work today. I got to the office (we have two; I normally work out of the one closer to home, but they asked me to go to the other one just for today. I got there, and there was a new manager there. I ended the internship about a month ago, so I was rather surprised there was someone new in the office. Apparently he was hired right after I left. I asked him if the manager who hired and trained me over the summer was going to be in the office. He awkwardly said, "Um, she no longer works here." In between me going to work on Wednesday and coming to work today, they fired her. So I basically was hired as a partial replacement.

Rather shocking. In this industry, people don't usually get fired. Sales associates decide they aren't making enough and leave, or they may move to a different office. Interns come and go. This doesn't happen very much. It's really shaken the office. But then as I've gotten into the work more, especially recruiting interns, I realize there was a LOT that was left undone. We have unanswered applications from back in JUNE. That's just...completely unacceptable. So I've got a huge mess to clean up on the recruiting end and almost wish I had to go in Monday so I could continue cleaning up the mess. My boss also made a rather, er, not good recruiting decision yesterday that majorly backfired. I was in the office from 8:30-4:30 and didn't take more than a five minute break to go to the bathroom. Not even lunch. I came home and had a glass of wine.

That sounds like a mess and it sounds like you deserved a glass of wine at the end of the day.

@Cesar R M very nice pictures of the Miami area. I went down to the South Beach area in the early 2000's with a friend. We didn't see much besides clubs and the beach. I did like the Art Deco architecture, I thought that was pretty cool. I wish we had seen more of it, I guess that is another place to add to the list.

Happy farm market Saturday. I really hope I make it today as my well pump gave out last night:mad::arghh::bawling::bawling::bawling::bawling::bawling::rolleyes: It's ancient so I'm trying not to complain too much .Anyway we're going to pull the old one this morning and double check what size the old one was before going to get the new one. The one and only upside the place we're getting the new one from is around the corner from the farm market. I figure If I cover myself from head to toe while helping pull the old one out and then change I'll be presentable enough to go there while my dh grabs the pump. Guess who may or may not have had a glass or 2 of wine last night.

That sounds frustrating. I hope you get that all fixed up. How did your farm market adventure go yesterday?

That would be hideous. Imagine London, Amsterdam or New York or Boston like that. Though the water would cover the stilts. It would be like every city is Venice. Which then wouldn't be hideous.
