That seems odd to me...almost like blackmail. Yes, they should pay for the damages, but the money should go towards THAT, not a charity. Making him pay to a charity to get his passport back doesn't seem ethical. Charge him with a crime and make him pay for that and legal fees...the rest is extortion isn't it?

The Brazillian officials could probably dig up some charges and then it might be jail. I'm sure the swimmers would rather "donate" to charity and go home than spend time in jail.

We did a road trip to California a few years ago and went to a few National Parks and they were so beautiful and different from each other. There are still many I'd like to see. Yellowstone was by far my favorite. National parks is one of the best things our government has ever done.
Yellowstone tops the list that my girlfriend and I want to visit. We visited Zion and it was beautiful.

I was also a kid in the 90's and I agree Disney was on the ball back then. Now they seem to have lost it when it comes to new ideas. Kids who frequent WDW/DL every year have to get bored with it. I myself could not even do that. I have only been to WDW three times in my life and they were all after the age of 21. My parents were not really into vacations to amusement parks. If a child does come into my life I will not take them every year. Instead I will expose them to many different vacation spots. That way when we do go back to Disney Parks it won't be all the same things.
Not sure I agree with that. My parents were going to WDW every year before I was born. After they had me, it continued, and I was just along for the ride. They increased the trip frequency to twice per year, and we've gone three times some years. I can honestly say I've never gotten bored with it. Our winter trips are completely different from our summer trips, and things change even between those trips. We may miss a ride or a show one trip and do it the next. This trip, Frozen and Soarin' are both new. Even the Star Wars Fireworks are different from what they were in January. Last year we did both waterparks; this time, we're by the pool more. We do Disney Springs in the winter but not in the summer. We find ways to keep it fresh, and with my younger brother being on the autism spectrum, it's been great for him.

DL is a different crowd than WDW. Most of them are locals. That means they constantly change things up to keep it fresh. They run different fireworks, do attraction overlays, basically, they keep things changing throughout the year. Even Carsland (which is completely amazing FYI) was build in 2012 and has already had one of its original attractions replaced. I just took a trip with my parents to DL in June, and I'm going back in January. I'm expecting to see an entirely different fireworks show and World of Color show from what I just saw in June.

Of course, we have gone other places as well, but I never got tired of WDW. :)

We have done the same. Going every year, and other places as well. Disney is where I call "home". It's always nice to return, it's familiar, with so many memories with our family. We have done a lot of traveling when my husband traveled for work. We always took a few vacation days, and saw the area where he was working. We've gone to California, Hawaii, Canada, Mexico, etc. many of the states....They were fun adventure's. But, Disney is a home away from home. Our vacations when we first started going, are much different from now. Like you said, it's always a different trip. We did the family amazing race, a couple times while at Disney. There are lots of ways to do Disney.

I don't think I'll ever get bored with Disney either and never want to go. For me though, especially on a teachers salary it is not about multiple vacations throughout the year. There may be one or two week to 10 day vacations per year for me and my girlfriend. Most of the time in the 5 years we have been together it has been 1 big one with a long weekend or two thrown in. So for me Even though I love Disney a lot I am not going to go every year. My girlfriend also is not nearly as much of a fan of Disney as myself so I wouldn't even think to subject her to going every year. I also love seeing other places so I am totally fine with that part of it. Once I get back every 3-4 years it is all fresh and new and I am extremely excited like a 6 year old kid.
