Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
Reminds me of Coronado springs.. the convention space bathrooms are always spotless.
so if you have to go and you're in coronado.. better go to the convention center farthest ones.. :p

Yep, found those restrooms the morning I checked into the Coronado. Large and clean. Perfect place to change from winter clothing to summer outfit. A girl gotta do what she has to when her room isn't available at 930am

I really hate the smell of beer, and the taste is even worse. I'd rather pass on a drink than have a beer. The exception being summer shandys or other drinks that, while technically beer, don't smell or taste like beer. At home, if it's not wine, I go for the Mike's Hard Malt liquors.

To each her own, I guess. :)
Try the grapefruit beer at the outdoor stand in the courtyard at Germany! ;):hungry:

As a parent, I really like the short summer. Our kids' last day was July 8th and they go back August 22nd. Over here, we don't have summer activities...all the activities coincide with the school year, so there's no way to keep the kids occupied in the summer. Also, our weather is not very summer-like...it would be more like spring in the U.S. so the kids can't always go outside to play. Being cooped up inside with no outlet for energy is hard enough for 6 weeks...I hate to imagine what it would be like if we had the 3 month summer model. I think I'd go crazy!!
I agree if kids don't have activities planned throughout the Summer they get bored very quickly. I know I did when I was a school aged kid. That can usually only lead to trouble.

psst.....rant

Why do so many adults of my generation (and younger too) have such issues with Millennials? To what end is the need to create a one size fits all negative stereotype for our future leaders? What is it about these particular aging adults that constantly sound off about the Millennials yet cannot differentiate between The Millennials and Generation Z?

I so wanted to post a response to the twit that just was coming down on the Millennials again. Then I realized He was actually a Millennial and was actually spouting off about the Generation Z. :joyfull: *The moment I realized it was likely above his comprehension level* :banghead:

Generation Name, Births Start & Births End-General guidelines
Baby Boomer Generation 1945 1964
Generation X 1961 1981
Generation Y - The Millennial - Gen Next 1975 1995
Generation Z 1995 2015

None of this surprises me at all. Every generation that's come down the pike has found fault with the next generation. IMO, I think there's plenty of good qualities in every generation. There may be various nuances that differentiate between age groups, but that keeps life interesting and moving forward with new ideas.

I've often thought that the people who are really behind these generation categories are marketing executives, who use their media sources to push trendy ideas out there--and create buzz for their clients.

Well, except for the Baby Boomers who were the chosen people and like Mary Poppins... Practically perfect in every way!

I used Homeroom to do homework. Then I had some of the evenings without spending time on doing that. It worked well for me. What do kids now do in homeroom?

We have a homeroom before lunch, it is technically called intervention in which we are supposed to spend time one-on-one or in small groups with students. But that is impossible when there are twenty five to twenty seven kids we are assigned. So it turns out to be a study hall, in which a lot of the kids just pretend to work but are really just chatting. And it is only 20 minutes long so by the time everyone takes their bathroom break and locker runs it is almost time to go. I really hate that time in the day. Although this past school year my homeroom had most the the kids that got A's and B's so I didn't mind letting them slack sometimes as they always got their work done anyway.

I would love to babysit.

I'm sure Kapono would love a visitor, once she stopped barking at you.:)

Huh...we never had homeroom. Our "homeroom" was just our first period class. And our teachers had to take attendance in every class to make sure students didn't skip out after attendance was taken.

We are supposed to take attendance every hour too, being a rule follower I do. I often get calls from our secretary asking if students were in my class or not because she knows I keep tight tabs on the attendance where some teachers never bother.

He certainly did! We came back home almost a week ago and he's still chattering away in English. He was only shy about it the first few days, then he wouldn't shut up. I don't know how many times we had to say "Hey, motor mouth, leave the people alone." I don't think the bird was particularly bothered with his ranting, though. He cracks me up.

That is so great he was able to use his English so well. I think I remember you saying that your kiddos were a little worried about their ability. I am okay with languages but I am really jealous of people who are completely fluent in multiple languages. I think they are super smart!

I liked the one behind the Character Spot in Epcot...they were always clean and practically empty!!

What!?! Why are you telling people about this spot! Just kidding;):), I'm not mad, but it is nice that people don't know or remember these bathrooms. Just like the one off to the side of Journey to Imagination, they play the old music loop in there too.
